Viscous Coupler? Is this the problem?

Alright looking at buying a new 1G talon. A guy has one but he thinks the Viscous Coupler is bad because not all the power is going to the rear wheels which causes the front wheels to spin. First off is that the problem? ANd secondly how much would a viscous coupler be and where could I find one? thanks

If ONLY the front wheels spin, you've got a problem. you can get a used VC for around $200

Could also be a set of broken spider gears in the center diff.
