Ok. So I've been having some problems with my car. And everyone seemed to agree that the problem was either a boost leak or ignition. I replaced the plugs and wires about 4 months ago. Checked the plugs, they were fine. So I did the next obvious thing and pressure tested my intercooler and piping. I found out that my turbo outlet elbow has rusted so much there are several small holes in it. The gasket for it to the turbo is toast. Lower IC piping is pissing air out in several places, IC itself is fine. Upper IC is ok. Small leak at the BOV to upper IC pipe and a large leak at the throttle body.
First thought was, THIS SUCKS!!1one But then I started thinking posetive. This is just another reason for me to upgrade!!
I'm going to make a custom lower IC pipe with a 2" turbo outlet elbow(port the turbo outlet to match it)
I planned on buying a upper IC pipe from dejontool.com
But the only problem is I don't know what to do about the trottle body? I have found a page on how to replace the tb shaft seals, but I am a complete noob when it comes to working on the car. Are there any other options. Or should I just grab my balls and take a wack at it since the car is down for the winter anyway?
