Ok, Im a newbie and i'm getting a Gen 2 AWD Eclipse ( Just have to find one ) and im no stranger to fast cars. I have usually kept it domestic but I thought I would switch it up a little and try something new. I don't know a whole lot about these cars as far as aftermarket parts ( The best products and who makes them ). I know I want to go with the best parts I don't want anything shabby on my car. Because of the cars I have owned in the past I don't think I would be happy until I had a low 11's car. Anything else just wouldn't feel too fast I wouldn't think? If someone could give me a heads up on good name brands and I guess a mods list I would need to help me at least get into the low 12's for now it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Trey :thumb:

Personally in my opinion the 1st gen is best for speed. The you can hit 12s maybe 11s with the stock 14b turbo. You'll never see that on a T25 in the 2nd gen.
Personally, I'd do a 1st gen awd (no traction issues). Port the 14b wastegate and toss a bigger flapper in, full 3" turbo-back exhaust, 550cc injectors, 2g maf or GM MAF with a MAF-T, front mount intercooler with piping, AFC and some tuning. Also throw in a clutch for good measure.
That should be good for some nice 1/4 mile times.

EDIT: Forgot you'll also need to rewire the full pump (maybe get a bigger pump, I'm unsure) and an FPR. Tuning is key, the money spent on tuning (if you don't want long sleepness night trying to tune it yourself) will pay off in the end.

Please disregard the above statement. The people running those times on the 14b have an incredible amount of experience with these cars, and in some cases, a decent amount of weight reduction.

If you want 11's, a 50-trim should be the smallest you look at. The 16g and 14b (and the T-25, I might add) have all gone 11's. It doesn't mean it's the best choice.

660cc injectors, AFPR, 255 pump, FMIC, clutch, tuning device, logging device, exhaust, etc., will net you nice times on race gas, and possibly pump, but that's up to your tuning skills and driving ability. It is not difficult to tune yourself, and the average guy will not spend "long sleepless hours" tuning.

Also, weight reduction never hurts.

IMO, it's a good choice to stick with the stock turbo as it's money you can spend else where since it is possible to run those times. Also why would you need race gas to run 11s? Should be possible on 94 octane, if you can get it where you are.

Of course this is just my opinion.

EDIT: Also I think it would be cheaper to stick with the 14b. Again just my opinion so correct me if I'm wrong.

Just because a turbo has went a certain time does not mean everyone will have similar results. Odds are, he will not hit 11's on a 14b, especially on 94 pump.
