Hopfully others who search for this thread will find it easily with the "Belt Diagram" in the title.

This is for a 95 GST

Can SOMEONE tell me which belts go where on my 2g? It's been 3 weeks since I've taken these belts off so I cannot remember where they go back on. I do not have a shop manual, and I do have the DSM Backup Manual CD, I have been browsing that for an hour, and I have been browsing the DSMTuners search for over an hour alone. Someone please help me out here.

I DO want to remove the AC belt though.

I have searched for:

How to change belts
How to belts
Change belts
Changing belts
Belts
Water pump belt
Alternator belt
PS Belt

and a few others but no luck! Grr :barf:

The BIG LONG one with the TEETH is called the timing belt. You should know where that goes. The smallest one goes on the the water pump to power steering. The next longest one goes from the crank to the ac tensioner pulley to the ac. The longest one goes from crank to water pump, to alternator. :thumb:

ok now how to figure out how to get these darn things on...*sigh*

*edit* ok f*k the power steering. i cant get the one bolt on the bottom of the ps pump to come loose and im bout to strip it so f*k it. I'm just gonna put 1 belt on. The alternator belt. My AC doesn't even work anyways LOL.

I have my accessory belts (power steering, alternator...) off to replace my harmonic balancer. I just want to make sure I'm putting them back on correctly and that I didn't do it incorrectly last time. Are both of the pulleys on the harmonic balancer supposed to be in use? What should each belt be connected to? Chilton manual sucks for this, sorry.

BTW, I do not have AC, so I only have two belts. I found This thread but I was curious which pulley the alternator belt goes around. Is it the bigger inner pulley or the outer pulley on the harmonic balancer?

PS goes just to the inner water pump pulley. Alt goes to the outer harmonic balancer pulley and outer water pump pulley. If you ever remove the water pump pulleys make sure to not put the outer one (actually 2 halves) on backwards as it then has some offset which destroys the alt belt.

Here's a visual (the disconnected belt is for the A/C, which you won't need but it illustrates where you'll be missing a belt):

I have searched and can't seem to get a good picture of the belts in tach on a 7 bolt motor. I have checked the vfaq, and plymouthlaser.com and my local dsm forum with no luck. I bought a 2g (all my experience has been with 1gs) that the previous owner had disassembled everything down to the t-belt. Well I have since replaced and repaired all the t-belt stuff and put on the t-belt covers, figured out the waterpump pulley/crank pulley and configuration, but the a/c idler pulley assembly is hard for me to place, can anyone take a pic of it in place with the motor out of the car or something? Thanks again
