2G-specific Exhaust manifold(custom made?)

Hey I know that you guys always recommend that if we the non turbo people want a turbo we should buy a new car but I came up with the idea that if I can have a exhaust manifold custom built to fit the 420A but use the 4g63 turbo I could put it in my car, what do you think.
Could it work?

well you can start with the manifold but i wouldnt do anything untill you have replaced the internals. i have had to rebuild entirely too many 420's in eclipses and neons. most of those were not even pushing boost. i have found 75% of the ones i have rebuilt cause of a rod knock was because the rod was twisted bend or somehow otherwise mangled. save you money for internals then buy you manifold. you going to have to do it sooner or later, might as well do it right the first time otherwise youll be pissed later

Plus you'll be able to run more boost if you replace the internals. I don't know what the compression ratio is on a 420a, but I'm sure it's pretty high.

Unfortunately, the problem isn't just the manifold. Some other problems are:

-How are you going to plumb water and oil to the turbo?
-How are you going to get enough fuel to the engine?
-What are you going to use to pipe the air from the turbo to the engine?
-The stock 420A has higher compression and is not quite as strong as a 4G63 when boosted. So, you can't run as much boost unless you rebuild it with forged parts.
-You will need a SAFC to tune with. The stock N/T ECU isn't setup to handle boost, so you'll have to tune it richer during boost to not kill the engine.
-The N/T clutch isn't set up to handle the power of a boosted engine. You'd probably want to replace it with a better unit.

A lot of this stuff sounds simple, but in reality is extremely complex. You'd need to know exactly what you were doing in order to make this all work and not kill your engine or the turbo.

You're much better off buying a turbo DSM, or, if you're in love with your car, buying a turbo kit.

2G-specific

all right let me get something straight, the idea of just making a custom manifold wont work, so you guys recomend a turbo kit, but do I still have to get all the internals?, my engine was completely rebuilt at least the top you know. I bent three valves when my timing belt broke. does that count like internal mod?, my mech made a three angle valve work on it. thanks a lot

You don't HAVE to replace your internals, but your won't be able to run a whole lot of boost. Your compression ratio is too high right now.
