I just bought an evo III turbo and i want to make sure it's actually an evo III, how you be exactly sure it's an evo and not just a small 16g...? model number on side is TD04H...thanks

my bad it is TDO5H but still can't this be a small 16g? is there any markings on an evo III that actually shows it's an evo ?? and not just a ported 16

thats not always true about the turbine housing not being square. the OEM 16G that comes from the evo 3 motor have the square flange on it. The only way you can tell is by looking at the turbing port and wastegate port. The turbine port Flares out..leaving about a .25 inch spacing between the turbing port and wastegate port.

Also when you drive the car, do you notice a little more turbo lag then your old 14B? Does it boost higher into the RPM range? THough not conclusive, this gives you a clue..

If it says TD04H then its indeed a 13g which is off a 1g auto. If it was a 14b or any of the 16g's it would of said TDO5H. I say you need to get a hold of the person you bought it from beucase he has some explaining to do.

Yep, i read the wrong numbers on it, i have so many of these things layin around my garage, guess i read the wrong one or something, but it's an evo, anyways i sold it on ebay to some smuck, and i bought a brand new one
