On top of my ghost white smoke problem, I have a new (i dunno if it is necessarily a) problem.

I am getting a noticeable PSSSH after every shift.

I have absolotely no power loss, idle is fine, and everything else is all good. I have the stock BOV, and I really don't think I should be hearing this sound!

I've never had this car in 40-50 degree weather before (which it is now), could this be related?

When my car was stock, 98 GST, if i listened closely you could still hear a little "psssh" after every shift. It wasn't loud, but you could hear it. I don't know how loud yours is, but I think this is normal. Mine was just a faint "pssh".
 
Yeah, but this is VERY loud. It was quiet on my 2g engine, then was quiet on my 1g, but is now loud on my 1g. The weird thing is, the car is much faster... I'm having no problems with it at all. I'm just wondering if my engine is!

I have noticed that BOV sounds louder (even with stock one), if you have an open type air filter. hope that helps...
 
when i cut the dump tube and put my K&N filter on my car it made a great difference, now my stock B.O.V. is loud
 
Can someone explain "Dumptube"? It's probably a part I call something else...I keep hearing it and it never occured to me that i didn't know what the hell it was.

Nevermind..I figured it out myself. It's that tube that made my car run like #@%#@%#@%#@% when I took it off to test the BOV for leaks.
 
LOL no no, the dump tube is inside the runner going down to the turbo. Heres a visual, past the MAS you have, where the BOV sits on top of the intake to the TB. Follow the big 1" Diametere hose. Take off the MAS to get a visual of what it is. Its very restrictive and cutting it makes your BOV sounds that much better and frees up space for more air flow.
