Cruise won't let me cruise over 70MPH?

Is this a problem or is my car special I turn the cruise on at like 80MPH, then i let go of the gas and it slowly starts to decelerate until 70 MPH. I know its probably busted but why would it do that? It works at any other speed below 70..

Any suggestions?

I think yours is busted.. unless it's a "feature" of later models. My '95 cruises at any speed (well, around 80 is as high as i've gone)

Make sure you're hitting the 'Set Cruise' button, not the 'Resume' I was cruising somewhere with the cruise set around 65mph then I sped up and tried to set it at whatever mph higher and I kept hitting resume, so it'd decelerate and then set back at 65. I'm dumb.

I can cruise at 110, but not below 30. If you're doing it right, then it's broken. Whether it is an issue is up to you.

I do not have the schematic for your cruise control but I believe it works off vacuum as well as electrical signals. If it works at all then likely the electrical system is ok but generally at the higher speeds the manifold vacuum is lower to begin with and any leak would cause a cruise control problem. I would check all of the vacuum hoses for leaks and connections and especially after anyone has touched it like after an emisions test.

i have a 93 and cant above 80 that i know of. i thought it was a safety feature? who the hell is gonna cruise at 140mph? my cc cable popped out once, not fun... maybe i just messed it up then when i readjusted it.

i cruised at 126mph for a brief few seconds, then let off. I want to see if it had a max mph....i guess not
