Didnt know where to really put this but I setteled upon the general area. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi with electric locks but NO ketyless entry. I dont know if the talons didnt come with it or what but I want it. I dont want a fancy expensive alarm just something that will lock and unlock my doors AND I want the parking lights to flash. It doesnt have to even have an alarm as long as it does those two features. An alarm would be nice but isnt a must. I know it sounds funny but I really want keyless entry and I like the light flash thing. :p So please everyone who knows of a system that will do these things please let me know what it is and where I can get it from. Thanks for your help. :D

well did u checked to make sure u don't have stock keyless entry??? it's a big black box under the little corner window on the driver side back seat.

My talon actually has the box but i did n't get any pads when i got the car so I'm in the middle or getting some..

could you tell me exactly where the box is???

i cant figure it out with that description....do you have to move anyting too see it??

pics would be great!! :dsm:

common man dont jack my thread LOL its under the plastic in the rear where the rear drivers side speaker grill is...and no I took mine off the other day its not there...how hard would it be to get the factory one?

An easier check for the factory alarm: look for single horn mounted on the firewall down toward the center from the battery. Or, roll down your window, lock the car with the key, and in a few minutes reach in through the window and unlock the door.

Do you have the green "SECURITY" light on your dash?

Sounds good AND cheap, I've been thinking about doing an alarm too recenlty, I just wonder how hard it is to do yourself....

Keyless entry at a shop is only around $130. You can get them cheap on ebay and such, but it all depends on your knowledge of auto wiring. Depending on your experience ( I have done it for the last 4 years now) I would say for someone who has not done it before, take it to a shop. Cutting the wrong wire or hooking an alarm/keyless entry up to the wrong wire can cause ultimate problems to your car without the right experience and parts. It took me just around 90 minutes to get the standard alarm in, but I have done it so much I could do it with my eyes closed :shhh: . Be very careful, because our cars are very tempermental (if you plan on doing it yourself). Feel free to PM me for questions too, I'll be glad to help an any way. But I am asking you, do not install it if you never have done something like that before, I would hate to see a fellow DSM owner mess up their car. :thumb:

I would rather have an alarm than remote start, but it looks like a good deal.

I just got and installed a Compustar 2wss from ebay. I got a good deal on it and so far I am happy. The install went well (although I had a crappy alarm installed before). All I can tell you from experience is don't buy generic crap...I learned that the hard way :dsm:

I got a DEI Rattler keyless entry/remote start(which is the same companny that makes Viper and we sell it at work) for a good deal. Does anyone know how about to hook up the remote start to mine being a 5 speed? I have the clutch pedel switch disabled so it should work? I always leave it in neutral because of the turbo timer and always have the e-brake up.

My car is a 5-speed too. There is a company out there that has part that hooks up to your stick, and is wired to the neutral safety switch on your alarm. So the only way I can turn my remote start on is if i am in neutral. You do not want your car leaping forward into your house or another car. I know people who say "yeah I always leave it in neutral", but there is no such thing as always. Also if you have to send it into the shop, they may mess with the alarm and you don't want them to f*@k your car up, because if they do because of your remote start, they are no longer liable. I will try and find out what company I bought it from though. :thumb:

i just got my viper keyless entry and alarm installed and wow i am very impressed...its got different zones and stages of alarm...plus u CANT beat the cool chirp..its also got a hella bright blue LED status light that illuminates ur whole car at nite (when armed) to let ppl know not to #### w/ this system

anyone know where I can get a remote start for a 5 speed car? or an add on to my rattler(viper) alarm?

Common guys lets put our heads together and help me figure out a way to wire up my alarm safely to a manual transmission for remote start. I know someone has done it out there.

why? u wont get a the warrenty with the system, more than likely a few months down the road, or maybe even a few years u will leave it in gear once and the thing will lurch forward into some dudes rare vintage 1954 corvette

guys guys guys...the only time id be using it which is rare anyway cuz i have a garage would be if I left it outside my driveway one nite and it was winter id only use it where it was safe and id watch it when it started to make sure it didnt jump. i have a turbo timer and i always leave it in neutral other wise it TT wont run so thats covered and the ebrake is also going to be up. cant I wire the wire for the remote start into the little red BRAKE right so that it will only work with the ebrake on? help guys doing care about a warranty ill be doing it myself.

My car has an aftermarket "Nuetral Safety Switch" that I installed when I put my remote start/alarm on my car. How it works is the box has two wires, one hooks up to the neutral safety switch wire on your alarm and the other gets grounded. Then the box has a mechanical cable sytem where it gets attached to your shifter. The box gets attached to your car with screws and needs to be situated so the box's display shows it to be in neutral when it actually is in neutral. The box only gives ground (which is required for the Neutral Safety wire on your alarm to work) only when the car is in neutral. It will not work when the car is forward or revers in gear. It is 100% "fool" proof, because the box will not give ground unless in the only position, nuetral.
Now for hooking up a wire just to the e-brake, it is a good secondary hook up. the reason i say this is the e-brake does have a strong hold on your car, but it is not impossible for the car to leap forward still. When a remote start gets activated by your keypad, it tries to start your car several times before quitting, roughly between 10 and 15 times depending on the alarm. Now if your e-brake is on, it does keep the car from leaping as much, but the remote start trying 15 times will cause it to jump still. Trust me, my shops have trid this to see what would happen on several different cars with different kinds of e-brakes.
I will try and find where I bought mine, it has been like a year since I bought it. :thumb:
