Im new, need stats, specs, info, help, etc

Hey everyone, ive been looking here a while, but never got around to posting cause i didnt have a DSM. anyway i just bought a 92 eagle talon TSi awd for my winter beater (though its is very good shape). unfortunitly it is an auto, but on the bright side, i can install a remote start for winter (I live in minnesota). I also have a 1993 trans am which i am selling currently because it has a salvage title and im ready to move from the LT1 to the LS1. ill be getting one next spring. but until then I have a new baby which needs some more power. currently I ran a 15.19 on a Mr. Dyno which is a gtech type device, but is quiet a bit more accurate, has computer linking capabilities, gives speeds, trap speeds (yes, TWO different speeds), 1/8, 1/4, 330, 1000, 60', 0-60 time, 0-100 time, average h-power, peak h-power, rpm at peak h-power, average torque, peak torque, rpm at peak torque, etc. so it does quiet a bit and is supposed to be very accurate. i ran a 15.19 @ 92.3 or something like that (i have it on paper outside). my TA ran a 14.34 and at the track ran a best of 14.292 with averages in the 14.3XX range. enough about what I have, here is a list of things i either NEED to know or want to know. i already have a basic background in mitsu terms, turbo upgrades, etc. but basic elementry stuff. im new to turboed engines so bare with me. all i know is fbody and american V8 for now.

1. stock boost on a 13g turbo?

2. i know the stock gauge is inaccurate, but should it really be reading 12 psi?? (no i dont have a boost controller hiding in there which i do not know about)

3. what injectors do i have, 390?

4. what is the max boost i can run 100% STOCK?

5. max boost for 13g?

6. max boost for 390 (or whatever injectors i have)?

7. (haha silly, but need to know) what octane is the minimum stock? what about after i raise the boost a BIT?

8. proper launch rpm for auto?

9. inlet size of 13g, i cant find a CAI (or can i?) to fit the 13b (i MAY upgrade to a 16G sometime, but keep in mind this is a winter beater, i cant toss lots of money into it)

10. i have (in order) blue, black, black, blue injectors... ... ... why? my g/f's dad's 91/92 VR4 has the same (stock injectors for him, and had a 14b stock, now a 16g)

11. cabin lights... what are the warning lights up there? i cant figure it out

12. cabin lights... what does the center button do? it doesnt do anything for me or is wired wrong cause no lights turn on when i open the door at night

13. option button above fog lights button... what is it?

14. economy/power button... what does it REALLY do to the car? shift points? extra boost? seems to be faster on economy

15. ISC (something like that)... where is the cheapest place i can get one? i know mines dead. any helpful install guide or is it pretty self explanitory?

16. cleaning IC... worth the time? gas or rubbing alcy? dad seems to think gas would be unsafe

17. free mods... worth the time? ACTUALLY makes power?? or does it just add throttle response?


thanks guys for any help you can help me with! i know im new and new people get anyoying quickly, but bare with me, im catching on really quick. im sure ill have more questions, but these are the ones off the top of my head right now

1. around 9-10 psi
2. dont look at nethign the stock boost gauge does, it will bounce up and down.
3. 390 yes
4. i wouldnt raise the boost much over 15
5. i guess idk the max. but again ###### not over 15.
6. once again id say 14- or 15
7. i usually put 89 in?
8. most people with autos launch at like 3 or 4k i think. ( ihave manual)

10. i dont rember what the color means.
11. idk what ## asking
12. its suppose to turn on lights when doors opens.. mine doesnt work either.
13. to raise the pop up head lights on 90-91
14. changes shift points
15. If ## ISC was dead idk if the car would even function properly, if its dien ## idle plays games with you. cheapest place www.dsmtrader.com or a pull yard.
16. I cleaned mine. no noticalble diff, but cool seeing how many butterflies were on it.
17. free mods. silencer makes a littlem ore swoosch sounds, bcs mod worth it, adds about 2 more psi.

11. one of the lights say A/T temp, and there are two others that dont say anything, what are they?

17. free mods... ive seen like 100 different free mods. which ones work, which ones are worth it? bcs mod (is that just a boost controller?) why would it matter if it adds a few psi when i can just change it up on the boost controller? have any links to all these? thanks!

I still only see talk about 14b and 16Gs there. what are the inlet and outlet for the 13g?


IC pipes worth the money?

what mods do the most good?

well if u dont have a boost controller yet then the BCS mod is worth it.

star silencer removel makes it sound cooler, the rest are just for fun lol.

IC pipes are okay i had an upper one, didnt feel much pull.

most of the basic bolt ons you wont feel real power until high rpms. but what you want is boost gauge, boost controller, k and n filter, turbo back, and maybe some IC pipes. and you should be good to go. for fun u can add some big ass plug wires, not that ull feel diff either way.

98redGs... those links didnt help me at all. ive read all that already. everything i find is 14b crap.

yes i realize the stock IC pipes are smaller, thats a given right? im asking if its worth the hundreds of $$ to spend on those pipes when i only have a winter rat

the questions i asked also consist of non performance/engine related material.

infamousmarcus, im not really 17, im actually 19, thats just an old SN ived used for a few years

where is the best place to install the boost gauge? vaccum lines on t-body/intake man. or on the turbo outlet pipe?
