Is it possible to have 2 intercoolers in your car, one that is mounted in the front, and another mounted behind the passenger side wheel and have them connected? This is on a 92 talon turbo.
 
one good one would probably be better as there would be less pressure drop and less restriction.

would be kinda neat tho, in a ricey sort of way. You could say "I have 2 intercoolers" hehe. Not something I would do, as I like my stuff as simple as possible. 2 intercoolers makes for way too many connections and chances for stuff to go wrong.
 
thats like the twin turbo vs single turbo question, two turbos(intercoolers) get inaficcient (sp?) one good one will do a better job.
 
Is their front mount any good? The price is nice but am I better off paying the money for a IRC front mount?

Wait a second....just read the first thread again. Are they using 3 stock smic to make the front mount? If so nevermind my ignorance:rolleyes:
 
IS THAT INTER COOLER ANY GOOD ? ANYONE HAVE ONE ? AND IS IT GOOD UP TO 360 HP FROM LIKE THE T28? I SEE THAT IT SAYS
Spearco core rated at 335hp AND SAYS ITS GOOD FOR THE T28 ?? IS THAT WHP OR JUST HP ?
 
Many guys use the 1G intercoolers welded together on other cars, especially the TT mustang guys. If you use larger inlet/outlets and better endtanks, they make a good FMIC. I am planning on welding up the gear to put a dual SMIC intercooler on my 2G soon. 2 wrongs don't make a right, 2 halfway decent intercoolers make a decent intercooler.
 
I might go ahead and say as well, that my bumper on the stock side is all bored out (front and back) to get much better airflow through the stocker and I was planning on cutting the bumper up on the other side to get plenty of airflow there as well.

My bet is that you will end up having to add A LOT more fuel when you switch over to a real FMIC because you will be making so much more power with a REAL intercooler ;)
 
RDRKT did u win against the rx7.com car? Oh and id go with a real FMIC, i got a Spearco w/ piping on my 3000 and i noticed a good gain especially goin from 14-16psi...times also showed a difference, went from a 12.5 to a 12.2, plus it looks bad ass. Im goin with the normal Starion FMIC on my Talon for now, but got a friend w/ a GVR4 who did the dual sidemounts, it works for sure.
