fuel pump upgrade, bad gas milege, rich air/fuel ratio

please help. i have a 1997 eclipse gsx upgraded turbo (16g) and inercooler and air intake and exhaust.

i recently decided after buying the car to put a boost cotroller and fuel pump on it.

i put a 255 walbro fuel pump in and my gas milege has went to hell to say the least. i knew it was going to go dow some but this is really bad. but before i put the factory pump back in i wanted to know if i could fix ths problem beings though i already bought and have the upgraded pump in.

i instaled a air fuel gauge and it says i am running really rich on the fuel so i was thinking would a afc fix my problem or is there a way to turn the pump down by adding more air like turning up the boost.

just for note i have the apexi avcr boost controller and that thing is so confusing i dont know how really work that thing eiher. all i know is i am only running 12 psi and it does not reach full boost until the end of the rpm range. like after 5000 rpm. if anyone out there can help i have read and read stuff in forums and i just need somebody to tell me what the hell to do. i really want to get the car running at least 18 psi.

With a 255 lph pump you definitely need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a fuel pressure gage. Right now you're over running the stock regulator. Do some searching on the subject.

I agree. In most cases it is necessary to run an afpr with the 225lph hp pump, which is why many people decide to go with the 190 or the 255 lp. You'll just have to spend a little more in this instance.
