I was just wondering if anyone is running the O2 setup from punishment racing?

I've never seen it on a DSM, besides the picture on the website?

Any input from anyone about this would be appreciated!

i have it and i love it. check out my engine bay in my gallery. :thumb:

Thanks for the quick response!

You don't have another picture, out of the car. before the install do you? How were the welds and everything like that? Do you have the external dump or is it vented back into the exhuast?

Thanks again for the help!

I have the recirculating one and it is a pos. The welds were real bad on mine. It works but I didn't have a welder to fix the thin spots on their welds. It came shipped in a soft(not padded) yellow envelope wrapped in newspaper. I got mine for 125 and I guess you get what you pay for.

For real man? Do you have any pictures?

I have two different reviews, one says that he loves the O2, the other says the opposite. Did they change the quality of their piece or something?

Thanks for the space!

So does the quality from them just vary greatly or something? Should I try giving them a call, and let them know I don't to receive a junk one or something? Its a great price, but I don't want to end up buying twice...

Thanks for all the input guys, helped out alot!

Apparently, they now have some new welders, which are much better. My friend (IcedEarth15) has one, and it's real nice.

Alright, cool looks like I'll be ordering one of these sometime soon.

Thanks for all the help!

I ordered mine after they claimed to have new equipment and they changed the design of the recirc. model. It still had bad welds on it. I can't take pictures cause I lost my charger for digicam on vacation. I would spend the extra 50 and look somewhere else. It came package poorly and was made poorly. It looks like you could have done better yourself. I only kept it because I needed an o2 and couldn't wait another week.

$150 sounds like a great deal for the o2 dump. I'll probably be getting that one and put a small lawnmower muffler on it to try and keep the noise down a tad bit. Or maybe not. It all really depends how good it sounds when I install it, when I get it.

The people who keep complaining about shitty welds need to post some pictures.

If they are just mig welded and mild steel you cant really complain. Especially for the price.

Now if your paying from something tig wedled and stainless expect to spend about 350 dollars.

150 dollars isn't a bad price, the mandrel to make it is going to cost around 50, then the two flanges cost about 50. So they really arent making a ton of profit of you guys.

That Punishment Racing doesn't look that bad (FOR $150) if it were more than that I'd say forget about it.

I think I'll pick it up, I appreciate all the info about the part and all.

That RNR piece looks nice! But the $339 price tag doesn't make it look so good to me anymore LOL! If I had the cash I would, but I'm trying to make every dollar count!

Is there anything that I can coat the Punishment O2 with, a type of enamel or something, maybe black to make it look a bit better/last a bit longer?

Thanks again for all the help/suggestions everyone!

$339? I think your a little mixed up, mine wasn't nearly that much.

Its $185 from RNr and their stuff is mandrel bent, not press bent like punishment racing.

Sorry about that, the $339 was the O2 eliminator downpipe.

Can you provide a link? I searched the site and everything, and can't find it. I will definately be ordering that piece instead of the Punishment one.

Thanks alot for all the help!

You got a loose bolt on your O2 housing.

I have the RNR O2 housing, its great :thumb:

actually the bolt isnt loose. it's the thick ass welds on the 02 so thats as far as the bolt will go in clamping it tight to the turbo, i dont even need washers,LOL.. ill put a better pic up soon ,and i have no exhaust leaks. :thumb:

I've got the Punishment recirc O2 that's supposed to be one of the newer ones. Got it for 125 shipped. Some of he welds had some nasty spots sticking off of them but I cleaned them up with a die grinder and it looks great now. I'll post some pics tomorrow if you'd still like some. The welds looks MIG welded and they're pretty nasty looking in some spots but there's no thin spots and, like someone already said, IT WAS $125!!! It's mandrel bent also btw...

By the look of the pic above it looks like it is press bent.

LOL... here is a copy/paste from their webpage, right under the o2 housing....

"2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel tubular
o2 housing with atmosphere dump. Built
with Laser cut 1/2 inch thick turbo flange,
stainless steel O2 sensor bung and a
high temp coating."

I should receive the SS version of the atmos dumped o2 housing, I'll post pics of it once I get it.

I just bought my straight pipe from punishment racing, got it on ebay but then noticed Im 30 min from where they are located. so I got to meet one of the two guys who does this. they work out of a small apt like room in a large rented out wharehouse. they are slowly working their way into the business and have to start somewhere. they have great products FOR THE PRICE and they are pretty cool guys to deal with too.

scott has a badass talon too I might add ;) (tims RX-7 with the 350 swap aint too shabby either). anyway, for what you pay, you can't really expect too much more. these parts are engineered for the ALL go types of people. if you want show and go, you're gonna have to spend a lot more...
