90 integra LSvtec vs. 90 GSX
This is my first time posting here, and I am pretty much now a new owner of a 90 GSX. I traded my 90 LS integ w/LSVTec for the GSX. Do you think it was a good trade? I have driven both, and my LSvtec is nontheless fast, but I felt more pull in the upper RPM's in the GSX. I figured that there is more expandability with an AWD turbo, vs my high compressioned 11:3 LSvtec w/ type R pistons. (Also, has anybody pulled out the two front drive axels, and made the GSX RWD? <---I'm sure I'll catch hell for this question.)
So anyhow I'm making the jump from N/A Honda (and Honda-tech/G2ic.com) to DSM GSX.
BTW, my car is completely stock except Boost controller, boost gauge, and AF mixture gauge.

i'm not sure if you are having a typo, but there is no "LSvtec". On your LS integra it would have DOHC vtec. theres pretty much only 2 types of vtec you will see sohc or dohc, and sohc is not good. theres varitaions with ivtec and vtec-e but in general its either dohc or sohc, and dohc is the only honda i'd touch. None the less, that was definetly a good trade. A 90 GSX is IMO the best DSM made. you said you feel more pull in upper rpm's with the GSX, and you will also get a better launch thanks to the AWD. Buschur racing has made a RWD talon. It is definetly not as simple as just pulling out the cv joints however. It is an expensive and difficult transformation, and i don't see the point. I would rather have AWD for strong launches than RWD. in the end, definetly a good trade

Go to G2ic.com. Or HondaTech.com The Lsvtec exists. It's a custom made engine, with a B18a1 block w/type R pistons, with a B16a head. It's sorta like a stroked type R (B18c5r motor).

how would it be a stroked type R if its the same displacement, block. Lsvtek is any LS block with any b series head with vtek on it. And yes, its well worth it. I just hope your 90 is in good condition.

The B18c5r type R crankshaft has a different rod stroke ratio than the B18a1 LS crankshaft. (The LS R/S is longer.) Also, the length of the PR4 connecting rods are different lengths. And the displacement of the B18c5r is actually less than the B18a1. Check it out at www.g2ic.com for yourself.
In anycase, I've left Honda because the potential for my 4G63t motor is greater. (Especially since the car is AWD.)

you might be having the typo, a LS doesnt have DOHC Vtec on its engine, and there is surely something called "lsvtec."

a 90 GSX is the same as a 90 laser awd, just cause it says mitsubishi and has a stock spoiler doesnt make it any better, if anything the GSX has a disadvantage vs the laser cause of the spoiler weight.
