4g63 7 bolt main bearing cap???

I recently acquired a 93 7 bolt turbo block from a friend and the main bearing cap setup seems kind of wrong. Its a one piece assembly for all 5 and it doesn't to match. All the holes line up and everything but i'm really not sure about it. I don't plan on using it, just selling it but I'd like to know what I have and the value of it. thanks

In general, main caps are VERY specific to the exact block and position they came from. If you don't have the exact caps/girdle the engine was machined with, then you don't have a block at all. (try selling it as a boat anchor)

It sounds to me like you could have a block with a girdle? I don't have any experience with 7- bolt blocks. Does someone know if they use main girdles from the factory?

The 7-bolt has a complete main girdle, not like the 1g, which has 2 girdles and the center cap. He is correct though. These blocks and girdles are main bored and honed at the factory as a complete, bolted together unit. Test is to put a main bearing set in there and see if everything lines up with the bearings in. Sometimes the caps on the main web seem ridiculously out of line, but when you put the bearings in everything is fine. Doesn't matter if the bearings are new or used for this test. If used, they just have to be in the same positions as they were in the old motor.. If you bolt it all together and torque the main bolts, the bearing halves should be perfectly flush on all positions
