Fans - Engine Smoke -and so on

I had another thread in the newbiei section about the coolant but here is my problem now.

Ahhh shit.... I think Im screwed....

I just turned on the car to let it run for a little bit.

In less then 5 mins I noticed the smoke/steam or whatever coming from the exhaust mani area (the heat shields are removed).

I turned on my AC and none of the fans are turning.
The coolant is filled all the way to the top of the overfill tank.

Is my completely messed up or is it something simple like needing a new therm?

Well for the fans, make sure you check all the fuse under the hood. And don't forget the one on the positive battery post. If the fans puked, the fuse will blow out. Go from there. As for the steaming, is it leaking fluids? If so you might look at the turbo coolant lines under the thermostat housing, They have a tendencie to rupture.

I checked the fuse by the battery and its fine.

So maybe the fan motor is done?

Wouldnt under the exhaust mani and around that area start to smoke or whatever if the fans where not working ### the car is sitting their baking with no fans turned on right?

Not unless there is somthing to "bake" off (i.e. oil coolant ect.) So you need to find out what is actually smoking. Check all connections for both water and oil. You probably have a leak on one or the other and its dripping on the exh. But the fans defenitly need to be checked and fixed/ replaced before you worry to much about the smoking.

Well, i'm sorry, but my cameras not working or i'd take a pic, but what I would be looking for is any of the big pink fuse either in the main box on the passenger fender-well or the center fuse on the 3 place block on the positive cable. It could be a 4 place block on the battery if you have ABS. Anyway start there and make sure there all good.

You know you have to turn on the blower and turn on the A/C right? Then the fans will turn on. Check to make sure the blades can spin freely not seized.

Well the last thing that I can think of, is the sensor in the thermostat housing, But I'm not a 100% sure that that would kill both fans. Did you do like mazdamx6pwr said and make sure you had the heater turned on also to check when you turn the a/c on? After all that you are gonna need to actually get the voltage meter and start checking to see if you have power to the fans when you have the a/c on.

Steve. did you get your p.m. by the way?

Im pretty sure I had all the stuff on when I tried it today, so if thats not the case what are the stuff I need to check in order to find out what I need to replace.

I need to move this car soon and Im kinda afraid to drive it in the current condition, need to move it about 10 mins away.

Well for the sensor, its on the thermostate housing neck. There are 2 of them. The one you want is the one closest to the cap. It has a white or black plug on it with 2 wires.
