my mechanic has my car set around 8 psi boost, now from using the search engine, this seems really low. what should i be running?
also what quauter mile times could i produce w/o beefing up internals?

I believe stock boost is usually around the 10psi mark.....i think minumum on stock springs is around 8, which is what you have it set at.
But with a MBC/ Boost gaugr which you should have i assume, you can run around 15 in normal temp air...really cold out, might hit fuel cut.

I beleive my springs are aftermarket, but it was done before i baught it. Im not sure so i didnt put it on my list. I thought 14.7 psi sounded high. Thanx for the help guys.

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure that dsm.org said that 95-96 stock boost level was set at 14.7 psi, however their archives server is down, so I can't back that up.

Jimmy Jr. the reason you were only holding 12.5psi is because the stock 2g bypass valve starts to leak at 12.5psi. So you're turbo is pushing the 14.7, but you are loosing it before it gets crammed in the engine.

From Vfaq:

1G cars have a stock boost pressure of 8-12 psi. 2G cars have 10-15 psi. The service manual allows lower pressures, but those are rarely seen in actual vehicles.

So 2G, haha..wide margin...

You're car will be fine running at 15 psi on the T25 turbo. No problem at all. My MBC isn't on yet so with the weather outside being so cold here in MD my psi is about 17 pounds at night. Its running fine, but I still gotta get that MBC on ASAP:thumb:

15 psi is a good setting, go with that
