Ok so I'm 18 i don't know a lot about cars, but my dad does. i want a nice car that i can work on and make it my own for my first car so im willing to learn. i found a 1978 pro street camaro for sale, BUT it says that he spun a bearing at the end of last season, still starts up, willing to sell as a roller... so how much do you think it will cost to fix the car? is it worth my time and money? good beginner project, or too advanced? i love taking time to take apart and rebuild things and read here that the motor may need to be rebuilt, sounds costly? what do you guys/ladies think?

how much are you gonna buy it for? A roller usually is a car with no motor sometimes no tranny. it usually means just enough for it to roll.

umm he doesnt have a price and he says it runs wich is also why im confussed that he said hed consider selling it as a roller? if it really doesnt start at all i know i dont have money for a whole new motor rebuild i probably wont go after it

i wouldnt get it. its too much of a pain if you dont know much about cars. youd have to rip it down machine it if it caused alot of damage. and thats not very cheap if you dont know people

If your looking to go fast and think it's fast just b/c its a camaro you are wrong bro. Back in those days cars came with tons of emission control devices that slowed them compared to late 60's early 70's...If you are willing to spend $ then go for it, just make sure you remove most of the emission parts that ain't needed, good luck:thumb:
