I haven't seen you around before. I used to live in Front Royal, since relocated to Strasburg. I would love to get a group together up here. I'm getting ready to tear my gsx apart AGAIN Timing belt rubbed the underside of the hood and has a small groove in it. It has less than 500 miles on it. Oh well, guess I do need to put on my HKS gears, "no-stretch" timing belt, ACT 2600, ACT extreme flywheel, SAFC-2, and various other money sucking parts.

Yo- Nice to meet you snailpower
I've only lived out this way for a short time and frankly, FR sucks. I cruise winchester, etc most of the time.
You want some help w/ that Timing Belt? I'll lend a hand

My name is james, thanks for the offer. We'll all have to get together so we can meet each other. There are a couple of eclipses around the area, and my buddy Chris...he has a 92 civic hb b16a with a t3/t4 kit on it. It's dark charcoal grey with carbon colored rims. That car is retarted fast, but Chris is a real cool guy not the typical honda dude that everyone stereo-types. That shit really pisses me off . I used to have a 4th gen civic that I put a b16a into, people would point and laugh b/c it looked like a piece of shit, then their jaw would drop when I whipped their ass . I sold that and have been the proud owner of a money sucking DSM ever since. My car is pretty fast......when it wants to run  . My other buddy Adam has a 1g talon that is a stroker, its still under construction. Well, I better go...I'm at work. My email is ntercooled@yahoo.com. Hit me up sometime and we can hang out and check out each other's cars. Later.

Ps, I hate FR too, you can't drive across town without some turd revvin up at you, I just look at them and smile b/c I drive a company vehicle and I can't afford to get a tkt.

What's up guys. I noticed cixelsid's post in the GMU thread and then stumbled upon this one. Good to see a little more DSM representation in FR.

You probably haven't seen my car around because 1) I'm hardly in FR except to eat dinner and sleep (I work in DC); and 2) my car has been on jackstands in my garage since August '04.

I like to do some work out of my garage every now and then so if you or anyone you know needs an engine built, let me know. I look forward to meeting you guys sometime -- it seems like I've been out of the DSM-gathering loop for quite a while.

Angry

yo - do you guys know where I can get a winshield (and/or a hood) somewhat cheap out this way?

My CF hood flew open on 66 and smashed my windshield (and chipped some of the resin off of my pretty hood)..... Scared the p1$$ outta me.
I cant really afford to buy a new one and my insurance wont cover it, so....... :thumbdown

We def. need to all meet up sometime. Right now my moneypit is in the garage awaiting a gaggle of goodies . I haven't torn it down yet but it will happen soon. I also work in fairfax and eat/sleep in strasburg so I feel your pain nukefission. Whats wrong with your car? Whenever you guys want to meet up let me know. My car shouldn't take more than 2 weekends so hopefully it will be done by the end of Feb.

Nothing was wrong with the car. I took it apart to start the winter buildup but it never actually got started due to lack of funds. That will change soon, however.

cixelsid, I think I saw your car on I66 this afternoon heading west at 430 pm. It looked like you still had a hood on the car. Did you manage to fix it?

The hood is still on the car - the resin on top of the CF is "chipping" off.. :thumbdown
It looks like crap I'm pretty sure I could chip off the bad spots and recoat it with resin... But for now it jsut looks like crap. :-/
The cat I bought it from has a replacement hood (the stock one) but he lives all the way down in Wilson, NC. If I can find one closer for what it would cost me in gas to pick it up - thats would be a bonus...

I'm hoping to attend in March. Do you think anyone will object if I invite my buddy Chris (turbo civic) and his gf Katherine (impreza 2.5rs)? I think they would have a really good time. Although he does drive a Honda, Chris is like the majority of us... he likes anything that someone has put money and time into. Plus his civic is one of the cleanest hatchbacks i've ever seen not to mention that it makes my car feel slow as hell.

Yeah, no one will care, i mean he may catch some crap from some people, but we are all there for the same reason, to respect everyones hard work. Just as long as he doesnt act like an ass spinnin wheels and stuff, which would make the cops come in, and everyone to leave. But see you guys there.

Thats cool, Chris isn't like that he's 30+ years old. He may try to run someone on 66 if challenged but i'll tell him to be cool if he comes.

I recently moved up here, well im up in the linden mountain, and all I can say is that my car is taking the beating of a lifetime, im in the looks for a daily driver right now I'll see how that goes, but hey if you guys are rolling to the GMU meet, we can caravan from front royal or something... I mean you guys know the area more that I do for some meeting spots, so if you guys are down lets set something up... if not well I hope I'll see you guys march 12th in fairfax...

Later.

PS: my internet is so slow now its not even funny (no fast internet up here) so I dont get online often but I'll try to check this thread often.

I was wondering when you were finally moving here from Stafford. Do you live on Apple Mountain, Blue Mountain or some other one? My in-laws live on Apple Mtn on King David Drive.

Since you're in Linden the best meeting spot would be the Exxon at exit 13 of 66, or the Markham exit if you live further down 55. That way you don't have to backtrack into town to meet us and then roll back out.

yeah, the exxon gas station would be great, although I dont mind at all driving into town if you guys decide another spot...

I live in blue mountain, from the exxon gas station I drive on 55 east like a mile, then from the post office I drive all the way up until the road becomes unpaved, then like an extra mile on gravel/dirt road, Cliff rd its the name of my street.

I'll keep my eye on this thread to see where I'll meet you guys.
