someone on the WiDSM site suggested goffs auto body in waukesha. I emailed them. i wanna get mine done in Jerez Black Metallic (A73) its an 08 BMW M3 color. What ya think?

Nice color. If your over by wakeshaw, then wait on WIDSM's till you find someone that will paint. I'd do it for you but, I don't have the tools yet. I might paint mine black in the spring time..

I'm getting into Autox, so I bet I could get them to paint my car for free if I put their name on it.

Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first.

Goffs does do pretty good work. Otherwise auto integrity on sunset in waukesha does pretty good work.

For a good paint job is will usually cost $2000+. Unless you know people, I got a guy that would do my whole car for $1000 maybe less. But thats only cause hes known my parents for along time, thats why a get such a good deal.

Well to Lofty's comment, I ran a little bit of SCCA Solo at Millerpark, and it isn't that big, stuff like sponsors are not big for your typical autocrosser, and the people there are very good drivers and to get sponsored you need to be good. So I would worry about getting into it and getting good before any sponsorship aspirations come up, but Goffs is the place I would suggest, I see alot of their work and it is great.

Fwd is prefered in most racing types other than rally or drag, auto cross is more for the fwd, same as road racing, and neither nt or turbo can be considered better for auto cross in my opinion due to the fact that you can build a turbo for auto crossing and will do as well as if not better. Over all autocross is not about power, its about handling and the driver, but to lofty, you might want to look up the rules per class in SCCA. They get very picky, and the higher the class the better the competing drivers are, if you mod your car you could be put in a class where you will not keep up.

What about Nagel Auto Body on St. Paul Ave. in Waukehsa? They do good work. As well, there are several other good body/paint shops around, but they aren't cheap.

Lofty, if you are staying in a STOCK class, you would be in "HS", and if you were in Street Prepared, you would be classed into "F Street Prepared".

FSP is a huge class and you will have stiff competition.

Either way, consider your modification list you will be following based on class regulations. You do not want to get tossed into a higher class than either of these with your car.

a place my work goes through is in milwaukee Motorcar Collision My friend also has had work done there too. They painted a hood and a front bumper in silver turned out real nice.

And, it's better to have a NT then a T in autox.
Turbo doesnt have time to spool because its so curvy.

Not nesicarilly true. As long as rpms are high enough you will have boost instanlty from lets say a 14B/16G.

When are people going to realize a good paint job ain't cheap?!?! The materials (primer, sealer, paint, clear) alone for some brands and certain colors can run $1000

You get what you pay for.

If you're paying 1000 for a full color change then it's some crap ass paint and clear. I like Dupont or PPG especially for the clear.
