Ok guys!! It's that time of year again. The track is open!!

KCIR's schedule is out for the viewing and I just got done looking at it. Currently the track is open on Saturdays for Test-N-Tune from Noon - 4PM. That does not jive with my schedule at all seeing how it's only 4 hours during the hottest part of the day. Wednesday "Fun Drags" and Friday "Grudge Nights" start Wed. April 1st.

I would like to setup a meet for all that can attend on Friday April 3rd. This date is not set in stone. I would like to find a date SOON that most people would be available.

If I remember correctly doors open at 5:30pm and racing starts at 6:00pm and goes till their curfew of 10:00pm.

Last time we tried to meet up at Buffalo Wild Wings just a couple miles up HWY 50 from the track. It ended up being a bust since I was late and a couple others didn't show up. I would like to try again this time I'll bring a sign saying DSM KCIR TRACK DAY!! on it or something similar. I plan to be there an hour and a half before the track opens their doors - 4:00pm. Then we can all head to the track, go through tech and get in line.

Just a heads up: Last time when we went through tech the guy was a complete dick and "required" any driver with a car faster than 12.x wear a fire jacket. Make sure your car has seatbelts, battery strap, and no leaks!!

$10 for Spectators
$20 to Race

Here's a timeline:

Friday April 3rd 2009
4:00PM - Meet at Buffalo Wild Wings
5:15PM - Drive to KCIR
5:30PM - Sign in and head through tech inspection
6:00PM - Run what ya Brung
10:00PM - Leave Track and Cruise/Photoshoot? Swade, Bring that Badass camera of yours!!!

Any suggestions for this event please feel free to add them. But I hope to have a better turnout than last year and hopefully a LOT OF FUN!! :hellyeah:

Whooops... I totally forgot about updating this thread.

<<<<<< UPDATE 3/5/09>>>>>>

April 3rd seems to be too soon for most of you. Although I'm ready to go to the track, Modified by KC's spring dyno day is coming up April 25th and 26th. I plan to take my car down there to see what it will put down.

Then on Friday May 1st I want to go the track. Hopefully that gives people enough time to get their stuff in order. That's 2 months guys!!! Maybe a few of you can hit the dyno with me. I already know Whophlungpoo will be there testing out his new setup we started building today. For all of you that don't know Whophlungpoo, he is the one that shut down the track last time due to the blown oil filter. That's all taken care of now and we shouldn't have any problems with that. He'll be out there with some Drag Radials and a fresh motor for his puny 18g. Anyways, I'm hoping to break low 12's and he's hoping for 11's. So, we'll see.

Here's the info for the Dyno Day:

cool sounds good hop i can make it. I have some things to work out. I need to get my clutch put in,and my car well not stay running, but iam working on it. but yesterday i looked at my turbo and I think it has some shaft play:ohdamn:

I will plan on coming to the dyno day. Don't know about taking it to the track though but we'll see.

Just so you all know. MKC's dyno day is actually two days the 25th and 26th. I will be going on the 25th due to some prior engagements that have recently been made known to me on the 26th. Hope to see you guys on the 25th.

I need to find a damn video camera...

Hope the DSM's are going to show up, for Kansas City has been blowing lately for DSM powa!

some one PM me, i WILL go...just so busy i'll forget if no one reminds me...self employment is a bi***, i can't tell weekend sfrom weekdays and holidays anymore... i work on all of them is seems LOL

BTW... I'm going with an 11's or bust attitude..anyone with a trailer that ill get me home or let me repair in their shop so i can get home will be well compensated for their time and effort...let me know if youhave an empty you can tow along, something's got me scared of these re-man CV axles because the boots were trash in 5k miles tops, other than that i haven't been pushing the new setup long, buti'vve made some hard pulls... I got to get slicksbefore this unless anyone has anythig for a 15'' rim i could rent for the weekend (my MT's are showing cords :( )

as for a dyno session, i will have my nitrous on next week, so if it's only a dyno session i get to do, it's going to be 500+ on the juice make or break...anyone know where i can get e85 down there? or should i bring my own xtra 5 -10 gallons...last time i was at WOF, ihad to switch maps and drive home on pump :( great mileage, no power :( )

Dyno session was yesterday and today. I blew my Ignition fuse halfway through my 1st pull. No one had a spare so we pulled it off. Ended up making 262hp and 314ft/lbs on my half pull to only 4500rpm. Still had a lot more in it.

Glenn, come on down this upcoming Friday!! It will be fun!!

Took my car down today (Sunday) and made 242 hp and 232 ft/lbs. I was pretty happy with that considering it has no tune on it.

so are you all going to meet up today  ?

P.S. my car did not get out of the shop yet

O man sorry I missed you all:ohdamn:, would have loved to be there but my car is in the shop. hop you all have fun

Nope no rain... You guys all missed out. Chris and I got there at about 5:30. I was the first one to go through tech and got number 101. I ended up getting 7 runs in. It was slow enough that you could make a run, get to the end of the track, pull back up and run again. Perfect temp for a turbo car. The track was a little cold though.

Here's my runs:
13.155 @ 103.41 1.757 60' (Pretty good first run, clutch slipped going into 2nd)
13.908 @ 100.45 1.997 60' (Spun 1st pretty hard)
13.906 @ 101.58 2.063 60' (Spun 1st again)
13.550 @ 101.99 1.869 60' (Waterbox burnout, good launch, needed to shift faster)
12.930 @ 105.96 1.820 60' (Waterbox burnout, good launch, Shifted the shit out of the trans)
13.190 @ 105.43 1.918 60' (Needed to shift faster)
13.078 @ 105.70 1.892 60' (Slightly better launch would have gotten another 12)

All in all it was a good night. I finally got my 12sec pass. But it looks like my car is a a solid low 13's high 12's car.

Time for a new clutch and some cams!!! :thumb:

Good job. One thing I can recommend is to NOT drive through the water box. Warming your street tires will not improve their traction. :thumb: Drive around the water box and do a quick burn out to make sure you have no debris or moisture on the tires and line up the car nicely in the groove.

Yea I understand this, but it beats spinning the tires off the line because I got one of them in the water trying to bypass it. The left lane here at KCIR is hard to get around the water because they park their damn trucks on that side. So, I just drove through it and cleaned off the tires by 2-stepping it and spinning them till they grab. The first run was done on the right lane and I got the best 60' of the night. My clutch hates me right now though.
