KCIR Track Day Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Lee Summit and Surrounding Areas
I would like to get a track day setup for all the Kansas City and surrounding area DSMer's. KCIR is open and I want to see some of us get together and run them. Let's get some ideas together on what dates are available for most people. I know it's grudge nights on Wednesdays and Fridays so let's shoot for those. Just trying to get a feel for what other people are interested in. I would prefer something later on this month possibly Wed. April 16th.

Cool, that would be awesome. What is your preference on a date. That's what I'm asking in this thread.

The 18th I'll be in STL for Nopi but any Friday after that is good.
I no longer have my GSX but I have an Evo that I'm dying to get to the track.

I am down for a get together real soon. I love KCIR and ran my best times to date there 12.08 @ 117.
i don't check this part of the board much ( i forget it's down here ) but i will try and stay on top of it. Pm me if there's something going on and i don't reply here (if some one doesn't mind PM'ing me anyway)
I NEED a new set of slicks, i'm going to try and order a set of M&H's here soon, in 24x9x15 i wish there was some where local that stocked them. I'm shooting to get kicked off the track for 11's with no cage again this year, i hope it happens

Here is KCIR's website. Kansas City International Raceway
Wednesday and Friday are grudge nights and on the weekend they have more major events. Grudge nights are $10 to watch and $20 to race. Gates open at 5:30 and run from 6:00 to 10:00. I only posted the 16th because I know I have the evening off. I work for security and I normally do the swing shift from 2:30 to 10:30 and on Wednesdays I work the morning shift from 6:30 to 2:30. But, I can arrange for Fridays also. Most people are willing to swap schedules around here. Just trying to accomodate everyone. I do know of a couple guys that would want to go. One is running an 18g soon to be on E85 starting TONIGHT!! And there is a Z28 that I want to coax out there to KILL.
Well, with most posts wanting the weekend. Let's shoot for a Friday night. Glenn, if you are ordering those slicks soon, we could wait and do this in May. That might generate more interest in this thread for a get-together.

Let me see what I can do with work. If not the 18th, maybe the following week the 25th?

Alright guys, It's definitely going to have to be in May for me to go. That month has yet to be scheduled at work and I can request days off as needed before it's scheduled. And, I just noticed a huge oil leak at the Oil Filter Housing. I will fix that today. Plus, I just got a speeding ticket while doing a third gear pull the other night trying to get the thing somewhat tuned. Yea I know, Idiot!! Good thing he didn't get me at the top of third!! Only got me as I was slowing down. Still, it's 55 in a 35. I can't go to the track till that is paid. So, what looks good in May?? Whole month is open for me!

I used to do all my pulls where Metcalf turns into 635. 3rd gear pull north bound over I35 then take 1st exit off of 635, loop back around and do one south bound. 435 between State line and Nall/Roe is a good spot too.

Yea, I work at the OP Convention Center So I get on at Wornall then exit at Nall. Gives me some nice room to do a 3rd-4th gear log. But for some reason I decided to do one down Wornall close to Ward Parkway! Never again. I leave it for the highway now!
The only problem with Metcalf - 635 is that it's down hill and can give you good results even on a bad tune. Then when you turn around it's uphill and you'll get different results. Normally get more knock since there is more load on the engine.

Ok guys. Set your calendars for Friday May 16th. I have cleared that day with my schedule @ work. It'll give everyone time to get their butt in gear, dyno tune, fix that tranny, or whatever you need to get done. Alright I'm gonna start a list of who is interested. Please copy this list, then add your username and the car you will be bringing.

Do you drive your car to work often? Because I havnt seen many dsms in that parking lot. I live right down street, so I drive past there all the time.
I should be able to get the new setup in by then. I wont be running cause I'll still be breaking everthing in, but I'll show up.
Kyle, did you ever get that gsx you were looking at?
Who's all going to the meet in Columbia on the 10th? A big cruise down there would be really cool.
