So I have a 97 GST and I want it tuned. I know I could go to AMS, but they are really expensive. Id prefer a place that does good work for a better price, if there is one.

The only other place I head does good work is GRD in Naperville. Anyone have any comments on what places are good/bad?

Thanks

If I lived in Chicago I'd go to AMS in a heartbeat. Right now it's just finding a weekend to get up there at this point. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for". It's pretty popular on this site. And don't say you don't have the money, save up. That's what I'm doing.

devo tuning in barrington. I love that place. They do great work at fair prices.

AMS is the #1 option IMHO... thats where I'm going to have my car tuned.

Two other good Illinois shops though are DEVO tuning in Lake Barrington and Rev Hard Inc. in Rock Island. I'd feel completely comfortable at either one.

Hey ZMann, thanks for the links, I think I'm going to give RevHard a try. A little closer.

Just to chime in...

I would say rev hard as well...

Ask for John if you call though. Hes the one that will do the tuning anyway.
At least stop by there to check out their cars.

John has a twin engine Talon, and the other owner has an almost 800 hp 2g right now. Almost in the 9's...Still working on it.

If you need any of their contact info let me know.
I know all the people that work there. I also live a few minutes away from the shop.

I've got an appointment with them next Friday at 3:00. I'm stoked as hell.

Sweet...HAve to let us know what your numbers on the dyno are...

Maybe ll swing by...I should be back in town by then...

So you're the one coming down pretty soon eh Steve? I was just looking at their calendar the other day. That place is great. they just retuned my gsx for the last midnight mayhem of the year ( a street car race night at cordova, 8-31-07 11pm to 4 am!) it made 380 fp torque, and 346 hp at the wheels. the awd dyno is great there. we basically maxed out my big 16g LOL. the local forum is qcperformance.com. they have some good info on their site about the dyno. oh yeah and the shop monster has an even bigger turbo than before. i dunno what exactly. its bigger than my head though! by a bunch. I cant speak about other shops as I go here for everything i cant do on my own, and their ten minutes from my house. happy boosting, maybe i'll see ya at the shop.
