i live in crystal lake, which is about 45min west of chicago. i just wanted to know if anyone knows how to install the dsmlink.

DSMLink itself is bacisally just a chip. You need a 1995 eprom ecu. You can tell its eprom by removing the cover of the ecu. Also, it should have an "E" on the front sticker. Remove the interior panels next to your feet around the center console to remove the 3 bolts for the ecu. Make sure to disconnect your battery. Remove all the plugs from the ecu. pull it out, and remove the 4 screws on the side. pop out the old chip, and slide in the new one.

so i buy a 95 ecu? where can i get that at? i am new to dsmlink/tuning completely.

you are going to have to buy an ecu off ebay, dsmtuner, demtalk ect. You need a 95 ecu the has the e on it. You are going to need to have it scoketed. DSMlink can do this for you.
Read this. It should ansewer most your questions and show you what the correct ECU looks like.
