Looking in NW INDY/CHITOWN for Shops, Hangouts, clubs, etc...

I have searched this forum high and low, but no one seems to be getting back to this MW forum. I am originally from Gary, IN, but I am a Marine, getting out in <3 months, and I am looking for all the old hangouts, or new ones. Especially Speed shops, and Car clubs...
I know of AMS, DevoTuning, TopSpeed, and PTE isnt that far, and I am looking for any others in Chi Town, the Burbs of Chi, both Lake counties, Gary Area, wherever... I have called around to some of my boys back home (mind you most of them are Honda boyz or Nissan guys) and they arent to familiar with the DSM crowd. And I know there is a lot of DSMers there in Indy and Chi Town, I have seen the Vids on Google/Streetfire/YouTube etc, and I am looking to make contact with those guys... I am just looking for some level headed guys/gals that want to hang out and go out for some runs and stuff, I am tired of all these ricer guys here in Actionville that dont have a clue, and plus there are only about 6 DSMers (including me) here in town that really know their cars and give a damn about them... but anyway... I know this sounds a bit weird, but at least I havent been home in ages, and any and all help would be appreciated, so help a brotha out... thanks again....

WELCOME! I am from Chicago also. We do have a really big dsm crowd. People usually meetup at Hooters on Wed near the streets of woodfield I think. Me and my 3 buddies are also huge on dsms. I know there is more than this... What about here in Indy? I have heard of only one, Wild Imports or something, but then again, PTE is in Hebron, so that isnt too far... I used to go there...

kinda new to the dsm scene too. just wanted to post to say thanks for the info, as well. do you know of any good paint shops in the chicago area? i'm looking to get my front bumper repainted.

i do not know of any paint shops, but my dsm buddys friend does paint work and he is pretty good from what I hear. There is also another shop called TOP SPEED it is near the 18th street exit of 90/94

thanks for the info man. i know some guys who vouch for topspeed ... because of RSX stuff though (my other car). heard topspeed is a good place (overall) ...
