"I reserved a new shelter for this meet. Hopefully it will suit our needs better. The meet will take place October 7th at 12:00 pm. Food format will be the same as last year. please bring a dish. Please post here what you will be bringing to avoid 30 bags of potato chips. Be creative or at least buy creative. I will provide the meat.
Last year there was a discussion about doing the dyno and it fizzled. Unless there is true interest..I will let that notion die with that last sentence. This meet is primarily a DSM meet but all other makes and models will be accepted and appreciated. However, we do not want "looptards" to attend. (Columbia people know what those species are ) As the event looms closer more details will materialize. As for now the date, time and place are set.

By the way, the park is the same one as last year. However, the shelter name is called Dexheimer shelter:

park map:

(look at bottom left of map to find shelter, it is labelled)

I look forward to this every year. It is a lot of fun and seems to have evolved into quite the annual event. I think this is number 5 ( I could be wrong)

Food list: (so far)

Rob, like always, has made a significant investment of his own money to have this meet. The shelter was $40, and the meat for everyone to consume is by far the greatest expense. So, with that being said, I would like to set up a little collection for Rob to help cover some of his expenses. If you could just throw in a couple of bucks in a coffee can we will have set up, it would be greatly appreciated.

The shelter for the meet this year is in the same park as last year (Cosmo Park, Columbia, MO), but it is, what I think, a much better shelter. It is definitely larger, the parking better, it has restrooms close by, and is more secluded. I have posted pictures of the shelter below. Please be considerate and not blast through the park as one there are cops on bikes, and most importantly, there are tons of kids around this park on the route to the shelter. BTW, if there is rain, the meet is still ON since we are in a shelter , just no cruise at the end (well, maybe, their might be some AWD drifting or something ).

I would like to go but my dsm is still down. There is a slim chance that it might be up and running but not likely.I am like 2 hours away and I dont know if the wife would go for it. Plus I have to get off of work and find a babysitter.Being a grownup sucks so much ass. :beatentodeath:

Your wife an kid(s) are welcome too. My wife and son will be attending. Unfortunately they won't be able to make it to the "cruise" part of the meet.

I will be there like always.

Killakev... how did you end up finishing at the Faceoff last weekend. I blew a headgasket on my way back to Columbia.

This is the 5th annual Columbia DSM meet, we hope to make it a good one. We currently have 22 people confirmed going but I have a feeling there will be quite a few more who will be contacting me (based on talk from other boards). Please, if you would like to come to this event, RSVP (by Oct. 4th) like you would any other formal event so we know how much meat, how many buns, plates, etc. to purchase. If you don't see your name on the list below and were intending on attending, please PM me. Thanks,

-Tim

:dsm: Well it seems there are no real DSM clubs here in St. Louis so I had almost given up and I see you guys are having a meet in Columbia. Well thats like 2 hours away but I want to attend so can someone please email how to get into your club or whatever I have to do to come out there as I think it would be fun. I am new to the DSM thing after I just sold my Lancer OZ (aka Slow as hell) and bought an all stock 92 AWD Laser so I am interested and eager to learn. Let me know what needs to be done to attend and Ill be there. Thanks yall.

I've updated my list of what people are bringing (link in posts above), right now I have about 33 people who have said they are going to show. We have some good cars coming out besides DSMs. We have at least one EVO, an STI, a 2003 Cobra, S2000, turbo s14, T66 GST Spyder.

The STI will be coming from Springfield.

I would go cause I havent been to a DSM "meeting" yet and want to, but it's about a 4 and a half hour drive for me!

Well I am in for this unless my car breaks down before then. I have a 92 AWD Plymouth laser and I will bring whatever you want me to or I can make smoething if ud prefer that just let me know. I will have atleast 2 peeps with me also.

Also I see up there something about a DYNO....not sure if you guys have one u can just bring to the meet but I would so be down with using it because I am very curious about my car.

so, is there any KC DSMers that want to cruise to columbia for this?

Hey, I might be up for it. Depends if I can get out of work though.

BAH get a AWD Dyno that would be freakin sweet! haha its cool though, im still showing up!

Ok, I have 56 people shown on the list, and this will be the last day updating it since I kindly asked people to RSVP by Oct. 4th. For those of you bringing stuff for the group, like buns, utensils, cups etc., remember to get a bit extra.

The weather forcast for Saturday looks great so it should be a good time. As a friendly reminder, you will be in a park with children around as they hold many soccer and football games in this park for kids on Saturdays. Also there are bike cops who ride around the area. So, please use good judgement, and drive slowly within the park. Thanks!

I would be there, but my tranny just gave out on me and i'm not getting it back till Sunday.

Just thought I would come in and chime in.

I went to the 2005 Meet. It was a blast. I just watched the video. I didn't even know there was oneROFL

I had a green 2ga Talon TSi AWD. The one with the gold 2gb Eclipse rims painted bronze and the 2gb Eclipse Front End Conversion. Oh, and a primer fender due to a deer hitting it.

Good times. I know I missed 2006. But I havn't owned a DSM for over 7 months. I sold it to guy from Columbia. I do not know if he is on here or if anyone knows him or if my old 2g is still alive?
