Chicago area speed shops?

So I have lived in the NW Indiana area for a while and I know of most of the F-body shops but what I have not been able to find is a good source of parts for my Eclipse. A guy I work with said there was a shop in ChinaTown in Chicago called "Wild Imports" that carried a good stock of stuff like CF hoods and the like, thus far I have not been able to find any info on the shop be it webpage/phone/address. So my question is does anyone know of this shop or of any other good shops within about 50 miles of the NW Indiana/Chicago/Cal-city area?


I am mostly after a good CF hood be it VIS or Seibon but I am not looking forward to the ~300 shipping cost of ebay.

Usually if you go to a local shop you can have them order it and they usually don't have the huge handling fee. At least that what my shop guy said.

Gee, thanks. I have not been home in 4 years and plan on moving back soon. I am now the proud owner of a DSM, which I love, and I would also like to find some tuning shops. I know there is a big DSM community in Fort Wayne IN, but I would also like to check out Chi towns dyno and tuner shops. China town huh? WHere exactly, I have quite a few asian buddies of mine that are into thier hondas and crap, they should know let me give em a call. Thanks guys, any more help would be appreciated....

Oh I found Wild Imports, the guy is in Griffith Indiana, hes got a nicely build 1g AWD Talon sitting in the showroom. He wants $250 shipping for the hood and his vendor is Seibon, he doesnt deal with VIS because of their CS issues, so that still puts me over the $600 limit I had set for the hood.

well, my dad, who is a honda guy. got a VIS evo hood for his del sol for like 250 bucks. i think he got it off ebay. he ordred it from a vender on ebay. but he placed the order in august and didnt get the hood untill like febuary (backorder) but i dont know ill ask him who he got it from and let you know.

They are in Chicago, go to www.amsperformance.com for exact location, I live in Grayslake (If you wanna get a map and figure that out), and it took me and my friend like 30 mins to get there once on the highway

AMS is definatley the place to go around here. definately check out their website and they have an online store. im sure you can find anything that your looking for through AMS.

No, I havent been home in 4 years... I am a Marine... I remember before I came in, the talks were about Doughty Road... Is it still going on? Or have they moved them somewhere else? I am going to UTI soon, and I am moving back in the area, so yeah, just in time for HIN and NOPI too....

Full of ricers but it makes for a good time....We usually drive down and hang with our friends in the south suburbs, then travel over to that spot...Not lately for me tho
