The Lapping days are simply AWESOME! they are held on a 30' wide kart track in Shawano WI. i did this last year with my GLH and had an absolute blast and will be returning again this year for sure. it would be nice to see a few more DSMs out there as well.

I have a video of me at the Shawano track if anyone is interested i'll post. it shows the elevation changes a little better than the picture above. The track is simply a blast to drive on and price is excellent for what you get!

thanks for looking
~Kurt

yes please post the video. BTW is it just a circle or is it the whole track? and do you race against time or other people?

Check the websites for all the rules. It is the long course, not just the circle. On the back straight you can easily hit 80-90mph.

do you need any safety things on your car?like a roll cage or anything. i would think that you need a helmet.

you need an approved helmet, and basically your car has to be roadworthy and safe. no loose parts, seats bolted in good, engine compartment clean and no loose parts, especially battery. battery terminals need to be covered. pretty basic stuff. the course layout is different each time, they change it up a little. the back straight is fast, probably not 80-90mph though, i think my friend was hitting near 70mph is his Z06 though. the elevation changes make it a blast to drive and more challenging too.

Video of my friends EVO: http://media.putfile.com/Jeff-Jeske-powersliding-his-EVO
My GLH: http://media.putfile.com/OmniGLHtrackday

sorry for the crappy video quality, but those are the only two i can find now. if i come across the others, i'll post them too. but those should give you a good idea of how big & nice the track is.

Okay WISCO Tuners!!! i'm from around the Eau Claire area, and know A BUNCH of dsms that would be down for such a thing. i need to know if this is really going to happen because the last 15 people i talked to about doing this said they would....it would be a 1/4 mile of dsm's traveling down the road to shawano!.... (that would be sweet by the way)

also, i have questions about my car!!!

i've tried everything to stop my talon from throwing a cel over my egr valve. i did the diagnostic, and thats whats wrong, my fuel efficiency is in the drain because of it... whats a good way to take care of the problem for cheap? or should i just go about buying a new egr all2gether? if i don't have to , i don't want to, but i'm all out of ideas at this point.

anways, let me know if there is ANY info that anyone can give me.

BTW. Eau Claire and myself, are going to host a show this May at the Eau Claire Rec. field.... not sure what day exactly but i have many people from the superior, duluth, la crosse, area showing up. let me know if you'll need directions..it should be a blast, i'm going to have Advanced Performance and Sound sponsor the event ....they said they would allready...it should be a good time.... mail me to let me know if it's something worth showing up for.. [email protected]

Take care and safe driving tuners!!!!:talon: :thumb:

Also you know Kurt I am for sure down with the auto crossing and lap days. I will for sure be there with the eclipse.
I'll be bringing the GLH to most of the track events, and will try to make as many as possible this year... especially those lapping days at Shawano!

where do you think you should buy a helmet from??? I would hate to buy one just to find out its not good for the track.

for the lapping days and autoX's, pretty much any helmet will work. sometimes they even have Loaner helmets. check www.fvscc.com for rules & regs regarding a helmet, otherwire PM me and i'll get in touch with the coordinator of these events and find out what is needed.

Helmet Requirements

The regulations for the event are listed on the www.myautoevents.com site when pre-registration is open. DOT approved helmets are what's required for the Shawano events. A Snell SA05 helmet would cover just about everything else.

Should be a blast. Just looking at the track gets me going.

I should make it to the meet over in Eau Claire as well.
