I live in Mason City/Clear Lake but I'm here at college in Iowa City. My DSM's in storage though I'll be able to get it out during Thanksgiving break (that full week) if you guys want to meet it up though.

I have the Eastern part of Iowa taken care of. Probably half a dozen in Dubuque and another half in the Cedar Rapids area that I roll with. We try to meet up once a month or so and go over some stuff...usually on the weekends, sometimes in DBQ sometimes in CR. We have gone to the track before, but that is over and done with until the spring. Nothing too organized, just hang out and possibly do a few runs. All in good fun!

There are a TON of DSMers from Iowa. I found that out when I made my post. I'm up for it though.

Dragsource and Import Evolution are a couple of the larger import/DSM boards based out of Iowa. There is also a DSM board based out of the Quad Cities. As for general sport compact boards in Iowa, Iowa Sport Compacts has been around for quite sometime now: http://iowasportcompact.net/portal.php. There also used to be some board called Fast and Furious Speedshop or something like that but after checking it out once, I never wasted my time again. Mr. DMSTREETSCENE, you may also want to run a spell check on the descriptions of your different forums. I agree with the above post that there are quite a few DSM owners in Iowa. I'd say that the largest DSM board based out of the Midwest though is still going to me DSMStyle.com based out of the Twin Cities. The majority of its members reside in MN, WI, IA, ND, SD, and NE although there are members from all over the US. I stay very active on DSMStyle as a number of the guys like to travel to Cedar Falls Raceway and Tri-State Raceway plus there are a few highly respected DSM tuners who stay active on DSMStyle.

I believe a few people from the DSM area tried to put together a meet last Fall but things ended up getting planned so late that I'm unsure if it even happened.

I was asked to be part of that meet. I met the guy that was setting up the meet and just decided to help him out. Yes everything turned out late, reason being is because no one would put a say in what they wanted to do, so really late we decided to pitch some rules down which we should of did in the first place. This lead us to just call the whole thing off since it didn't seem too many interested. Although the few that said they wanted to go didn't post again after that or reply to say that they were still wanting to go. It was just all a mess and really don't understand how it was so complicated but I was only there for support and to be there to instruct with the meet to help him with the meet so he didn't have to do everything himself. So if anything is planned again there will be no complications.


Anyway, I know of people in the Desmoines/Ankeny community some DSM, other imports, and of course a lil muscle. I would be up for a meet after winter since I am sure it wouldnt be very fun in the snow and people traveling. Hopefully we can get a good turnout and if anything I could bring non-dsmers if anyone cares for some of the meets if there isn't going to be a big show-up...
