Okay, my car will not start! I didnt have spark to 2cylinders, i switched the CPS and now all 4 have spark. I go to start it and nothing, tries hard but nothing. And now I found out i might have a bad valve(s). Took VC off and it would not turn from the crank too much. And you could see that the a few springs weren't moving for the inch it did turn. So, that PISSES ME OFF... really bad. And its not about the money Its about the TIME. I swear to god:pray: I could sell this right now. LOL hell no i couldn't what am i thinking:confused: But this brings me to another question. I had good valves a few days ago when i first cranked it, why did it not start then? i know that now i also have bad valves but back then i didn't. I changed out spark plugs, plug wires and still nothing. Not too much else i can think of thats wrong, but the ECU and i did this test someone put up where if the CEL cuts off after 5seconds its good. I just need some help.

1. How did you check to verify you have spark?

2. You obviously have air going in ( unless you sucked a bird in your intake)

3. Did you check fuel? Are your plugs fouled after cranking?

4. Did you jump teeth on the timing belt?

5. Did you change anything else on the car?

1.Pulled out Plugs from coil pack.
2.LOL, well it isn't bolted down all the way. bottom middle bolts aren't in.
3.Pretty sure its getting fuel.
4.belt pretty sure.
5.Before this problem i changed, ARP's,Cometic HG.

Also, when i pulled the valve cover, a headstud for some reason was not screwed all the way.

Was never able to do the compression test. I will start removing the head in like 30mins. Hopefully i can have those valves checked and possibly replaced in the next few days.

I think he might have bent a rod because even with the head off the car we could not turn the crank at all. Spun the cam gears with the head off the bottom end an they spun like normal. I think what happened was that when he kept trying to start with only 2 cylinders firing the other 2 flooded and when we replaced the CPS an tried to start fuel must have been in the cylinder an bent a rod or 2. any input is welcome my bro is agravated. an i am too.

Do a compression test first. It's easy and only takes minutes. And then go from there.

I highly doubt that starter is powerful enough to bend a rod that that normally can handle 600+ whp.

You did make sure the car is in neutral when trying to turn the motor over right? I saw a guy lift a car off the jackstands once before when he left his car in gear and tried to turn the crank with a bigass breaker bar.

Bent rod wouldn't make it seize. The reason one stud backed out was probably because they weren't properly tightened. When you put in the studs you have to put them in, let them sit for a few minutes, then re-tighten, then repeat a couple times, before sticking the head on and putting the nuts and such on. Otherwise pressure is trapped under the stud and can cause it to back out.

you know what i did not even think of that at all. my brother might have left it in gear so it would not move while the front end is in the air. and the reason i said maybe a bent rod was because at the shop i work at we had a mustang that had a bad fpr dumped fuel in cylinder 2 an went to fire it up an bent rod. thanks for the help.

Well good looks on that call dsmnthamakin, cause i went out there 15 minutes ago and it was in gear!! Didn't try it out of gear but I will check tomorrow and see if it spins easily. Thanks for that suggestion HighPsiTsiGuy.

a leakdown test would be best in this situation because it allows you to fully isolate the problem, to see if it is a bent intake valve, bent exhaust valve, or bottom end damage
