Had my transfer case off and was topping off the fluid when it started leaking out of the output shaft. Is this normal if its over filled?

Thank you,

Wait a sec. You said you had your transfer case OFF and you were topping off the fluid. If the t- case was indeed unbolted from the car or the driveshaft yoke was out of the t case when you were filling it, then yes, it is normal for the fluid to piss out of the tail. The yoke, in combination with the seal in the tail of the case is what keeps the oil in on that end. If you must fill the t case with the t case removed from the car because youre having trouble getting oil into the fill hole with it bolted on, just leave the driveshaft in the tail and unbolt the front carrier bearing so itll be able to drop down, place the t case so that it is level, then fill it til the oil is coming out of the fill hole and carefully reinstall the t case without letting the driveshaft come out and bolt the carrier back up after bolting the t case on.
