Recently I put a new head gasket in my '99 420a. While doing so I replaced many parts including thermostat, thermostat gaskets, temperature gauge sensor, and fan switch sensor. Now my dash temperature gauge doesn't read anything after running the engine for minutes. The fans kick on after about five minutes of the engine running. I have power up to the temp. sensor. Is there a fuse I should check, is it a faulty sensor, or might my gauge just not be reading? All other gauges work fine.

Thank you!

Try to ground the wire to the one wire temp sensor, ir the dash gauge pegs out you know the gauge and wiring are good and indicates a bad sensor, or that the sensor is not getting the ground it needs through the threads to the aluminum housing.

Oh yeah, double check your coolant level too

I'll do that as soon as I can get back to the car. It'll be about a week.

And my coolant level is high enough.
