Ok so i been going through this problem for a couple months now. Back in feb someone wrapped my 95 talon tsi around a pole it still ran but the body was completely trashed so i picked up a 96 body and installed the motor and trans myself. The wrecked car ran i drove it in the shop pulled the motor and trans and installed them in the new car. After hookin up all the wires and bolting everything up it cranks but no fuel or spak i sesearched the prob on other forms here. Everyone said cam or crank sensor so i bought both they are now installed. Still no fuel or spark so i searched more found someone said a dead computer would do it so luckily i kept the old one installed in today still no fuel or spark anyone have any tips that might be helpful. just dont understand how it ran when i pulled it but now that its installed it doesnt ?

Did you use the harness from the wrecked car or from the one the engine is in now? Are you sure the harness you're using is not cut anywhere?

Make sure the correct CAS, CPS, CTS, MAS and PT pins have continuity to the ECU and the engine is properly grounded. The ECU must see the CAS and CPS signals in order to fire the injectors or coils, I'd agree with your previous advice that one of those two is not being seen by the ECU.

i checked the fuel pump today doesnt kick on but i jumped it and it turned on so i know its good. the crank and cam sensor are brand new just installed this week also. as far as grounds i know of two larger engine ground on the passenger side but i found a braided cable ground by my exhaust only a couple inches long its bolted to the body coulnt see where it would run to a harness or the motor cause its not long enough. and i did check the the wire harness that was in the car, everything was fin beside where someone had tied something into the computers harness and removed what ever it went to but left the rat nest of wires so i put them all back the way the were suppose to be so there shouldnt be a prob there. as far as sensor what is the ct and pt i mas should be fine cause i never removed it. when i removed the motor and trans i unhooked the wires interr cooler and piping and pulled it never took anything off the motor but the tran to install the new clutch which wouldnt effect anything. by chance could there be a anti theft system on the car that would shut down the computer? im hopin i might be missing a ground but i got every ground but on hooked up and like i said at the top of this post its only four or five inches long i dont know where it could possibly go on the since it wont reach the motor or harness

i know the ac plug your talkin about it has tan/brownish wires to it the only thing im confused its the coil pack and cps have the same exact plug but even if i swap them around it still doesnt affect anything

have you swapped them as many ways as you can? I got confused and had to do it quite a few times b4 I got it LOL.

Check if your crank is sending signal. 5v reference wire should zero out when plate passes through. Then return to five when all the way passed.
Other wire should have batt volt.

ok ill go out tom with a meter and check the signals i got a buddy thats a dsm nut thats going out to help me to with the wires to make sure i got them the right way but ill repost if i fig it out or not

i have the same issue..my 95 RS isnt getting spark..
it has new camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor,
plugs, coil pack, and wires....
why doesnt it start???
the computer seems to work fine. but idk

ok so i bought a new fuel pump and mpi relay and installed them and i seem to be gettin a fuel reading on the dash now but still no fuel or spark what are the mpi and fuel pump relay suppose to test at when u test them and which fuse in the fuse box is the mpi fuse and should it have constant power when the key is on or only when the car is turnin over

has anyone else with this prob been able to figure there problem out also a guy told me that it may have triggered a security system somehow did these cars come with them and is takin them to a dealer the only way to take care of the security or can anyone with a obII scanner take care of it

how do i know if i have the cam and power transistor plugged into the right plugs since they are the same

Resolved problem was hairline crack in engine fuse, bad data fuse in the emgine, and upside down crank sensor. So it was a combination of problems.

Sounds like it is not receiving any fuel. You should check the fuel pump to see if it's operational. Check the MFI/MPI relay to see if it's plugged up properly. It's definitely fuel related.

Man I'm Happy for you, glad you found the problem ,I'll go check mines also, maybe thats my problem as well. Does any one know to test the Relays MFI /MPI.
