ECU code = non-recirculating bov?

Hey all, Ive been noticing since i bought the car that it throws a CEL. Its throwing the P0170 code, or bank 1 fuel trim malf. Now ive had plans of making my bov recirculating, because ive read that with the atmo dump your running rich at shift. Is there any reason to think that re-circulating the bov to the intake charge will solve this CEL issue? Also, can anyone offer up some suggestions on what part of the fuel system/o2 system this specific code targets?

I think im going to replace the upper o2. Judging from the wiring harness on it, it looks old as dirt, and worn. So logically that seems like the culprit to me. I'll let you guys know

Before you go replacing it, take it out and spray some brake cleaner on a rag and cover your o2 sensor. Then watch your a/f gauge to see if it stays rich unit the cleaner is gone. Or if it goes rich then a minute later goes lean. If it goes rich then lean its bad.

Not recirculating your BOV won't throw a CEL.

Right now i just have some hose and pvc pipe rigged up until I can find something that will fit the angles right, and it falls off every once and a while. My car stumbles and barely runs, but no CEL.

Use a piece of angled radiator hose. Works well
