Cricket sound for left side

When under boost and at about 3000rpms it sounds like crickets coming from the front drivers side of the hood not sure if this is good or bad :/ Anyone know! Car is stock from what I know besides the HBC boost controller. Its a 98 GSX Automatic with 83,000 miles.

Open the hood and rev the engine see if you can pin point it. I had a similar issue it was my alt. seizing up.

Alright thanks!!! So I have already replaced my alternator and battery so I just took off my ISC and tested it all of them tested at 30 and one tested at like 29.5 so I am guessing the ISC is good?

What are my other options while I have the battery out and everything I need to fix this problem. I noticed that the hose coming from the valve cover on the passanger side has like a residue of something on it.

Also I am wondering why there is a dipstick looking thing right beneath my intake piping on the passenger side?

The dip stick is for your transmission fluid level, check that while in neutral and fill accordingly. If I not mistaken, you just purchased this car correct? Might be a good time to do a trans service, drop the pan clean the magnets, change the filter and refill with new fluid.

Yup just bought the car. Do you guys happen to know why my car may be running like shit? The ISC all tested around 30 and one tested at 29. Should I get a boost leak test done along with a vac leak test? Could it be a fuel pump?
