I just installed a new water pump on my 1999 Eclipse and if you dont know, its a pain taking off the engine mount, pulleys, and the timing belt cover with the little room you have with out taking out the engine. Anyways, I aligned the gears back in place and put it all back. Then I started my car and it ran fine for the first couple of seconds and then it started kicking maybe misfiring, now it sounds like a muscle car and its running at 500rpms while stalling. I hear no knocking sounds so I dont think its the timing. I noticed my fuel injector hoses were cracked from old age so I replaced them thinking it might be a hose. However when I did that it still started the same thing over again. Could anyone help me out with this?

This is one of three idle-related threads created in two days. We need to keep this under control, guys- one more and I'm merging everything.

Here's what to do- go to the "search" bar in the header above. Choose "search forums". When the page loads, type "idle" in the search bar, and be sure to change the bar beneath to "search titles only". The search will reveal about 500 threads (no shit) with "idle" in the title. Search for one that fits the description of your issue, and see what the poster did to address the issue.

This site is coming up on 10 years old....all of the information has remained searchable- none of it is archived. If you think that no one else has suffered the same idle issue as you in the past ten years, I'm sure you're mistaken.

Im not Graveyard-ing this thread because it's 420A-related and there may not be quite as much searchable info out there on 420A cars....but still- SEARCH before you start a new thread, please.

Ok sorry I'm not a wizard at a site I'm new too?
I dont spend the whole day looking for the same problem as me.
I tried looking up to see if anyone else had the same problem WITH THE SAME ENGINE and I found none.
