Wipers On/Fans on/ABS Fuse Blows/SRS Light on HELP?!

Gentleman,

I have searched on this for a couple of hours and finally decided to post.

I had an overcharging issue that tore up my battery. For a bit I had the dimming lights and charging light would flicker. My father in law was driving the car and all of a sudden the wipers came on, ABS Light, SRS Light and battery started smoking under the hood. Immediately stopped and disconnected battery.

Replaced battery and alternator. Car runs now. Went through, tested and replaced all fuses under hood and in panel in car. The door locks, radio, window were all blown. All work now to include remote door locks and security system.

Remaining issues.

1) SRS Light still on. Assume need to have dealer clear, correct?
2) ABS fuse still blows fuse in box under hood. Light still on. Will clearing code clear the light and keep the fuse from blowing?
3) Cooling fans are always on now (when ignition is on). Are these controlled by ECU?
4) Wipers will not turn off (when ignition is on).

I have done a visual inspection on the wiring and nothing is melted. All wire has their coating.

Any direction or help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

1) Fixed the SRS light with a new (used) SRS computer.
2) Replaced wiper motor but wipers still will not turn off. When switch is in Off, INT or LOW the motor turns at low speed. When switch is in HI, motor turns at HI.
3) Cooling fans (BOTH) still come on when the key is on and the engine is cold and AC off.
4) ABS light still on solid and it blows the fuse everytime I put a new one in.

I have tested all relays in relay box underhood and all operate accordingly and as I remove each of them the cooling fans act acordingly.

I noticed today that when I put the ground back on the battery (I have stored it with the ground off and battery tender keeping the OPTIMA in good shape) the fuel pressure solenoid, EGR solenoid and emission purge solenoid get extremely hot to the touch...and that is with the key OFF!!

I have a second ECU from a 97 GST arriving tomorrow to see if the ECU is the issue. Will update then.

Of all the lights that are on, the CEL is not one of them. Quite possibly the previous owner removed the bulb. I will see if I can get after than soon enough.

Any troubleshooting guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE #2

1) Pulled gauge cluster and sure enough no light in the CEL. I replaced and started car. No CEL but solenoids and fans still on.

2) Replaced ECU. This FIXED the solenoids and the fans. They now act accordingly!!

Only issues remaining:
1) Wipers still on.
2) ABS still blowing fuses.

Ok, more updates.

I met a local gent with a "parts" GSX who has been helping me with parts.

1) Replaced the wiper switch and the wipers are now good.
2) I bought a scan tool (best $100 I have spent on this car!) and found that I had three issues, hence the CEL light and probably the reason the previous owner removed the bulb.
-I replaced the rear O2 sensor.
- Still need to replace the evap emission ventilation solenoid but I don't know where it is!!
-One more CEL, SWEET!!

Heading out today with the GSX for its first real drive in 3 years. Going to run up about 25 miles to my friend with the parts GSX and trouble shoot the ABS.

Just about done!!

All Done!

Car needed:
1) ECU-Replaced with correct ECU and all is good.
2) Replaced SRS Computer
3) Replaced ABS Computer
4) Replaced Sunroof Computerr
5) Replaced wiper motor but that was not the problem. Replaced wiper switch and all is good.
6) New Optima Red top.

That's it. Don't let your alternator overcharge!
