Resolved how do u put in gear oil in my tranny?

just recently switch from honda to mazda n mazda to dsm.. dont hav a clue wer to put in gear oil..

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the tranny. Take it out, drain the fluid. Replace plug. Take off fill plug which is a 17mm Plug about midway up the tranny on the side facing the front of the car. Funnel it in there using a hose that fits in the hole (thats how i did it). Fill it til it overflows if its on a flat surface. If its on a slant use the correct amount which is 2.3 qrts i think.

Get one of these:

Then drain the fluid through the bottom 24mm plug.... replace the plug.... and fill from the top 17mm plug till the fluid level is even with the bottom of the plug fill hole.

^^^^ that valvoline pump is a godsend. makes life alot easier especially when it comes to puttin gear oil in your rear end and transfer case

I would highly suggest you go and get a haynes manual. The manual wont help you very much with mods but as far as general maintenance procedures this book will help you get to know your vehicle and the basic maintenance that will be required for you to enjoy your DSM. Good luck fella.

If you don't have a hose you can fill it through the speedo sensor, just unscrew it and put it in. Just open the fill plug and when it starts overflowing you know the trans is full.
