I'm going to be cutting it close with my new engine. As it isn't done at the machine shop yet and my crank is still in Pennsylvania. But if I get it put together, broke in, and tuned I will be there with my GSX.

Pretty much not a chance in hell my engine will be done since as of today I still don't have a tracking number from my warrantied crank. I will be there to hang out have some BBQ and support my fellow DSM enthusiasts.

I'm going to try and make it, only two things that will stop me:

1. The car breaks by then.
2. I get too drunk the Friday before.

Other than that, I'll be there. :thumb:

... you can count a few of us in from SD as well... im going to try and rally the troops but you know how that goes, ill be lucky if my car can make that drive. :toobad:
hopefully ill be tuned on link with my tial 38 open dump. if not, well, ill at least see what untuned 16psi @ 9.6 1/8th mile time translates into on the 1/4 mile.

Yeah, that's me. Was it white or blue? The car did overheat & pushed coolant out of the reservoir when the session ended. Since then I put a 180 stat & 16lb. cap & stays between 180*-190*. I was thinking the turbo may have pushed a little oil.

:dsm:

can't wait to come up to the drags... maybe i can talk RRE to being open on a weekend? ####ers. I stopped by there on our way to formula D and they were locked up, their damn cat came out to say whats up though. :toobad:

I will try to be there as well it all depends on if i get my new Volk Ce28n's in from japan by then ...or ill have to go drop some new rubber on my Volk GT-U's for the day :( oh well i will try to make it anyways 1st event ill be able to make since the paint job got done. no promises you will get to watch my dsm brake all you $10 show ups! LOL. anyone going to cruze up from OC area? if not any SD guys wanna shoot me a PM where your going to be rollin through and i can join midway?

I might have said it before but I will be in the $10 club as I just picked up my short block and head yesterday and the clutch with the current setup slips to much to make me want to deal with it and get angry. Next street legal day I should be able to see what my 2.3 and 5031 will do.

im looking forward to meeting everyone saturday... ill be in the $20 club if the dsm decides it wants to work all the way up to LA. im heading up early afternoon friday and making a RRE pitstop :D then its over to a hotel for the night... and a chance to fix anything that broke/leaked/fell off on the trip up before the drags on saturday.

:dsm:

Just a heads up for anyone going, we usually have our pits set up near the finish line so look for the big group of Eclipses there.

Had a good time on Saturday, we had a pretty good turnout. Much thanks to the LADSM crowd for letting me pit with them and providing the bbq, burgers, hotdogs and drinks! I owe you guys one now:thumb: Too bad we had to wait 2 hours between runs :banghead: kinda makes it hard to get anything dialed in.

Overall I'm pleased with how the car performed (it didn't break) LOL. I was running about an 1/8 of a tank of 91 octane mixed with a couple gallons of 100 unleaded. Boost was spiking to 23psi on initial spool up and settling to 20.

1st run:
Was running rich and the stutter box was set to 4000.

R/T - .373
60' - 2.053 > bogged the launch :toobad:
1/4 - 14.258
mph - 93.41 > I let off the gas before the end of the 1/4 mile LOL

2nd run:
I set the stutter box launch to 5000rpm and took out 1% of fuel across the board on my hi settings on the safc II.

R/T - .179
60' - 1.883 > better launch
1/4 - 13.746
mph - 100.30

3rd run:
No changes to tune

R/T - .302
60' - 1.857 > getting more comfortable launching with stutter box
1/4 - 13.680
mph - 99.95

I was running pretty rich with no knock to speak of (thank you 100 octane). I probably could have leaned it out a little and run a couple more pounds of boost... but I was trying to keep conservative as I've never run this car at the track before. The '90 tranny/ 22 spline x-case held up great and the ACT 2600 didn't even flinch! 2nd and 3rd gear did grind my first run but I was nervous as hell and the butterflies in my stomach messed me up!:coy: My next two runs were good though, tranny felt good and shifted very smoothly. I took some pics and I got video from inside my car on my 2nd and 3rd run. I'll post them up later today. I know Wes got a video of me taking out a SRT-10 dodge ram on my 2nd run so hopefully I can get that posted up.

The next track day is December 5th and I'm hoping I can have my 20g and speed density setup and tuned by then :hellyeah:

Thanks to all who came. That's the kind of DSM turnout I like to see:hellyeah:. Expect to see a new thread for both the BOTI (Nov.) & the next Street Legals (Dec.).

Next time you'll get 11's for sure Hugo, less than a 1/10 of a second
