Hey guys my friend and i got my Link installed and we are having a little trouble with airflow. I type in my injector size and such, hit calculate and it tells me 61.7, but when i adjust to that value my car doesnt like it, idles rough. My car also dips to 500rpms when i come to a light or it will stall. Advice on changes etc will be helpful. Car isnt near done tuning but this is an issue that we dont know how to figure out. Here is a log.
My thread on the link forums isnt seeing any response soo I'll try here.

Add these values to your captured/displayed lists.
ISCPosition
CombinedFT
MAFRaw
Battery
ClosedLoop
OpenLoop

Also, upgrade the firmware on the chip.
ECMTuning, Inc.


Make sure base timing is set. Do a boost leak test. Then warm up the car and post another log.

Also keep in mind the GM MAF will act a bit funky with temperature/humidity changes.
 
Is your mod list up to date? What brand injectors?

EDIT: Also whats your Fuel pressure set at?
 
A couple of things..

- Timing sliders need to be at 0
- Adjust your MAF compensation sliders in the appropriate idle HZ range to bring the Airflow/Rev to .25
- Put your InjBatADJ back to stock
- Open loop thresholds back to stock
- Copy over the Evo8 Mod1 timing and fuel maps as a base point for cruise and WOT tuning

After you get through that you're going to need to log your idle and make sure your CombinedFT at idle is +/- 5, if the airflow/rev is still at .25 you will need to add or subtract deadtime to get your trims in line. Once you're done with that you can start tuning for part throttle/cruise. V3 has a tool that uses combined FT and will adjust the sliders in your MAF table for you. You need to adjust your open loop thresholds higher to capture a wider range of data. Once you get to that point, let me know.

How is it near done tuning if you can't get it to idle correctly? You must know that you can't just throw in ECMLink and start tuning you have to small adjustments first.

Thanks for the help guys. My mod list is up to date as of today, before i made the original post. I no longer have an ISC so i thought isc position would be reading anything. Brand of injectors is Precision, FP i believe is 50
 
Follow everyone elses posts and instead of -61.7 use -55.1%

Your "tune" shouldn't have been started seeing how you skipped the basics of tuning :ohdamn:

Back that base fuel pressure (vac line off & plugged) down to 38 and re-input the settings. There is no need to run a base pressure that high. You're just overworking the fuel pump, especially as you get into boost.
 
Was working on it last night with my friend again, and had Jon on the line. here is another idle log. Looking for the evo8 tables now and also how to get my est. boost to be correct (my gauge says -12).

There's the link for the .eda files you'll need. est boost is based on a correctly calibrated MAF, it will never line up exactly, as long as it's within 2-3 psi +/- under boost you're fine
 
New log. So, when we did the automatic maf settings during cruise, the car ran terrible and idle surged when we used the suggestions. the way it is now the car cruises fine. I purposely stayed out of boost for this log.

Trying to setup my Ingersoll-Rand 3-port Boost control solenoid but the Boost (wgs) tab isnt showing up. I have v3 full so I'm not sure why it wouldnt show up.
 
Ok, just an update i have the car pretty much tuned to where i like it so here is a log. Any tips or adjustment would be helpful!
NOTE: The EstBoost reading isn't correct, it goes to 25psi which is what i wanted. Debating on lowering the boost to 22psi to run more timing.

Also real quick, when the car is warmed up my idle will sometimes rise to about 1300rpms. My vacuum is also at -10 when it used to be at -13.. Vacuum leak somewhere?

I can't view your log on this pc, but the 2 highlighted fields don't match up. Get a map sensor and log your boost and make your bootest match your actual boost ALL the way to redline.

This should not happen. It will match up to where you reach 100% VE (5000-6000 RPM range), and then BoostEst will typically drop off where your MAP reading should stay static.

Yep I knew someone would say this. And I DISAGREE. Try it out and see for yourself. My car was a totally different animal with it matched up all the way and I would never tune the car any other way.
 
For one thing, I don't even see a MAP sensor in his log, so getting BoostEst to line up with logged boost is going to be a bit difficult. :) Second, there are too many variables involved when it comes to using the BoostEst method IMO; if you have a calibrated wideband, you are much better off getting that to line up with your targeted AFR.

Speaking of which... OP - you need to zero your fuel sliders and keep working on the MAFComp. When your global fuel, deadtime, and MAFComp are all correctly calibrated, your wideband should be reading pretty close to the value in whatever DA cell you are targeting while in open loop (which is pretty much the same as AFRatioEst, although it may vary slightly).

I would also lean out the DA AFR table values in the WOT areas, as anything less than 10.5 is overly rich. I would change anything less than 10.5... to 10.5... for starters.

There also appears to be something going on with your idle and/or TPS. It doesn't seem like the car can decide when to drop into and out of open loop when you start coasting with 0% to 1% throttle (at about 67 seconds in the log).

What does DA stand for?
When i used the suggestion feature (i forget what its called im not on my computer) that is on DSMlink it gave me suggestions but then the car would run like poo.
What can i do to figure out what is happening with my idle/TPS?

EDIT:

So what is up with your deadtimes? you have it pulling out in the DA table at 14v yet 700us+ in the ecu config? WTF as of now your running 657us over stock... .

Might have a bit to do with all the fuel your pulling out at the low airflow(for a GM Maf)
