Need some help!!!

Well after all the work I've done to this motor and car, the engine is almost done...but I can't figure out how to remove the oil pump sprocket...I need to install the castle plug and o ring ...when the motor was built they forgot to install it and the freeze plug when they did the bse, ( all oem parts BTW), any advice about taking off that sprocket? I really do not want to take off the front case...again!...motor is out of the car almost completely ready to drop, the little problems stress u the most

Removing the oil pump sprocket bolt and other sprocket bolts in the timing cover area can be a big pain. I seem to recall having troubles, and resorting to using an air gun while holding the sprocket with a timing belt.

Other things I could suggest;

Use an old timing belt, wrap it around the sprocket, and then use an appropriate sized oil filter wrench to squeeze/hold it in place. Maybe have two people for this. Also remember remember remember when you are putting timing stuff back together USE locktite and torque wrench, or you might lose a sprocket and smoke your head like I did one time. Lesson learned the hard way. ;__:
