as of right now i have a block that is built using wiseco 8.3:1 pistons. its bored .40 over. i have been looking to get CP pistons that up the compression to 9.0:1 with the same bore size. I was wondering if i would need to get a different block to do this on or if i could still use the same one i got. The block i have now is bored to meet the specs for the wiseco pistons

of course take your bottom end to a machine shop but there is no reason you can not use the new cp piston in this block unless the wiseco piston to wall clearence is greater from manufacturer then you would have an issue and if the are the same take parts to machine shop and have ring gap set and you are good i personally do not suggest changing pistons to gain.7:1 compression i will quote fernando at ostar "we have never had a problem with 7.8:1 compression we just run more boost" :) i hope that this will help definitley check manufacturer specs before doing this piston swap because you could dump a ton of money on a mod that will not have noticeable benefits
