the car is clean...Props to that.... BUT its still a DSM......I paid 10K for my evo with an easy 10K or more in Mods.... ...... .I'm fairly certain a bank wont offer that kind of loan on that car.. ... and your prospective buyser are mostly 16-21 year olds that aren't making a ton of money... I am a DSM whore and have bought a LOT of nice DSM's over the years and I'd semi-seriously offer you $5,000 cash for it.. and even then I'd have to do a lot of thinking... I know you have a pile of money in it and time. but the only way to get even half of your investment back will be a part-out sadly..

GLWS..if you decide to drop the price to something reasonable hit me up

Gawd I want this. GLWS. If you are willing to stick it out I bet you'll be able to get a good price for it.

1) It is not his responsibility to finance potential buyers, if they dont have the cash or cant get the financing necessary then that is their problem and they shouldnt be looking at cars this expensive.
2) Just because you couldnt afford something like this at 16-21 doesnt mean there arent people that can. I am 21 right now and have had a fully built STI, built SVT Lightning making over 700whp and currently own a 2004 RSX Type S with 50k miles on it making close to 400whp. There are plenty of younger people that actually have good jobs and can afford nice cars. Oh yea not to mention the owner of this car is 22 and also currently owns a relatively low mile WRX. His previous vehicle... an Audi A5 ($38k I believe)... the one prior to that... a stage 2 2008 STI ($27k I believe).
3) Please find me a GSX this clean with this low of miles for $5000. This car stock is worth more than that. I completely agree that he would get more out of it by parting it out but that doesnt mean its not worth his asking price. I know he doesnt expect to get his full asking price but he will definitely get more than $5000.

What a joke.

I do not think $10K is too extreme of an asking price giving all variables. My only issue is that I will have to pay an extra $1K to have the car shipped to Texas.

Completely irrelevant to a classified ad. Want to tell us how long his caulk is while you're at it? A "Stage 2" STi....awesome. All that tells me is that someone spent a pile of money and still went high 13's.

Let's keep this on topic before it gets closed. People are allowed to ask what they want, people are allowed to offer what they feel it's worth. I'm more with Ricky on this one....as these cars get older, the folks they appeal to get older as well. Any younger kid with a pile of money (be it his own or his parents') isn't going to blow it on a 15-year-old car.

I see some nice parts on a clean car but it still has a stock-appearing turbo and draw-thru 2G MAS with the stock intake snorkel, along with a stock rebuilt trans. That hurts unless you find someone willing to look past that stuff.

Wanna go halfsies? :) Ill go pick it up and bring it here... We can trade off every other week haha.

But very nice white Gst-x. Always wanted a white gsx.

mmmm i remember helping work on that car LOL

the turbo isn't stock. he says it is a FP68HTA
and By the looks of the pic it has the speed density kit probably just needs tuned. some one by this car it is awesome if i was able to get a bank loan for that much i would ontop of this in a heart beat

I obviously read the description- did you understand anything I said?

it still has a stock-appearing turbo
Doesn't mean the turbo itself is stock. ;)

Good eye on the IAT sensor placement- I did overlook that in the initial scan of the engine bay. Many times guys hide the sensors on the lower side of the pipe where it's not even visible to begin with.

It's nice indeed....but I'm still not seeing $10K. When I get it finished, I'll have a '97 GSX with 68K on it in equally as nice of condition....does that mean my car is worth $14K because it has less miles?

If you would actually read the comment I was responding to, you would realize I made the age comment IN RESPONSE TO HIS.

Yea a stage 2 STI runs high 13's.... even though they run 13.3 stock....

I didnt realize a turbo has to look big to be good. Must have missed that memo. I will give you the intake but it is tuned for speed density so that can be removed. The stock trans also is not an issue, its not a crazy high hp car so there is no need for a built trans. The stock trans can hold a lot more than this car is throwing at it.

Its funny how everyone thinks they know everything about everything but yet either dont read a whole post or apparently just cant comprehend a comment made by someone. Pay attention to what is said and do a little research before making comments.

As far as the price of this car, it is a good STARTING point. Like I said before, he doesnt expect to actually get $10k. If you have your asking price high, people will offer you a lower amount that is most likely closer to the value of the car (which is way higher than $5k). BUT say the car is worth $8500, if he would start at $8,500 people would offer him $6k. He could list this car for $4k and people would still offer less. Look at any classified ad or forum, everyone prices their car high bc they know people are going to offer them less.

Point proven.

Ah, yes- Eastern PA is full of good people. :rocks:

I was just throwing a little technicality in there on the turbo's appearance....hence the "winky" face in the previous post. :thumb:
