Well now that all the major bugs have been worked out of my car and all necessary maintance, I figured why not take it out and see what she will do.
I have only a couple of choices to hang out at and get some runs in. There is the T heads, but there mostly ricers (18 to 14 sec cars) big wings, body kits ect... you know the usual all show no go.
Then there are a few quicker cars that hang out about 5 miles away from my house, but too few to stur up a race.
I finally decided to go about a mile away from my house where the old Albertsons used to be and see what the Domestic guys had. I got there and saw a bunch of 5.0's, firebirds, camaros, one corbra, a nova, and about 3 imports ( old Supra.. and fast rsx type s and now me) I new i made the right choice. I proceeded to slowly drive down to where they were at and every once and a while let the turbo spool and the bov to be heard but just a little; I only wanted to attract attention not seem cocky.
Well it didn't take me long to get the attention from some kid in a LX 5.0
We drove down a empty street leaving the city where there would be no traffic. We get to the bridge which is to be our starting line, and due to my clutch adjustment issues I had taken a little to long revrsing to line up. By the time I got lined up a car proceeded to come up behind us which didn't allow me to stage; needless to say I had a bad launch.
I launched at 2,000 rpms (can someone say bogg), 5.0 gets a good car on me. I finally get even with him comming out of second then I hear SPRAY.. going into third. He pulled a car on me. Now I'm wide open in 3rd going into 4th (ZEX plugs... sputter, sputter, sputter) and I end up loosing by 2 car links, and making no more power comming out of 4th.
After the race I come to find out that this guys car is mildly built up with a 75 shot on the bottle, and runs low 13's to high 12's.
I think I did well for my 1st time out, and with a little tuning on my s-afc II, turning up the boost to 20psi instead of 17psi, and injectors I bought off of Danny next time I should take him by a couple of cars links. Needless to say the ZEX plugs are gone and the originals are back in until I get the Densos, and I finally got the clutch adjusted just right, but no one wanted to run me Sat. day night.
