Well I pulled the head off my engine today, hoping that it was just my headgasket that went bad. Well I was wrong, I melted piston #3, and scoured the cylinder pretty bad, I think its bad enough that boring the cylinder won't be enough to get rid of it. I'm also pretty sure I fried the piston rings in cylinders # 2, and 4, the cylinders are scoured in there also, but not as bad, the pistons look fine, but I won't know for sure until I get them all the way out. Cylinder #1 looks to be in perfect condition though. So I guess once I get the block totally out of the car, I will take it to the shop and see if boring it will do the job, if so then I guess I will be ordering some larger pistons.

So the bad news is I fried a piston, and some piston rings, possibly more pistons.

Good news is, it looks like I will be upgrading to something bigger and better though.

But more bad news I'm without my car for a while.

I will try to get some pics up for you peeps within a few days.

Boostcreeped way to high a while back, hit fuel cut hard, felt the engine shudder real bad, but by the time I could respond by letting off the throttle, the damage was already done.

Also refer to my post in the classifieds if you have a shortblock, or a bare block for sale, modded or not. All info is in that post.

I don't really want EVO pistons, I'm really leaning towards some Wiseco 9 to 1 pistons, and my 1G big rods. But I have to go with what I can get with the amount of $ I have right now.

Also I had plenty of fuel, but my ECU must of sensed the really high boost and fuel cut, which killed my engine. I just watched my A/F gauge jump around alot when the car shuddered. I also don't know why my boost went so high all of the sudden, it looked like it all of the sudden jumped to about 25psi, but I'm not sure exactly, I just caught it out of the corner of my eye.

i have a 6 bolt long block that i can sell to you as just a short block if you want. It has 2g 8.5:1 pistons in it. Pm me if interested.

How do I melt just 1 Piston? I don't know, it just happened. I may have melted some other ones also, I'm not sure until I pull the pistons totally out and look at the sides of them. It looks like I melted some piston rings on cylinders #2 and #4, the cylinder walls are scoured some, but nothing like the cylinder with the melted piston. I didn't totally melt a piston either, its still in there, but it melted a good chunk out of the side of it.

It also splattered some metal on the head, but it looks like it will clean up ok, hopefully.
