"Patches" Update :)

So... as some of you know, my poor lil car, Patches, has been needing some external help. Well this past weekend we started on it. Come to find out, Patches has been an array of different colors, including purple, orange, and green-ish. Here we go....

New headlights and sidemarkers are on their way. Patches also feels soooo good about being a solid color that the driver's side door doesn't creak when you open it anymore . So... what y'all think??

It looks so much better, but I would totally get rid of that rear bumper and side skirts personally.

But who knows they might look better with some paint.

The bumper actually fits the exhaust. I kind of like the exhaust, so for now, the rear bumper has to stay. But we're hoping to get it painted this weekend.

Body kits don't look bad as long as you don't over gayorize them. What color are you planning on painting it?

Keep it primer and pimp around your local neighborhood in it with the windows down blaring horrid country music.

I didnt know Pathces has a black/tan interior. Very nice.

To be honest I don't think the back bumper and side skirts look bad at all....now you just need to work on prettying up that engine bay!!

Patches just pm'd me saying that its its so glad you finally took that front bumper off and got it almost a solid color. It also said it looks great and can't wait until you finish

I definitely like the direction the car is heading....just swapping to an OEM front bumper cover has given it such a "sleek" look.

Makes me think of another kitted car with an OEM front bumper-

Thanks guys. And I'm pretty sure I've decided on a color, but I'm going to keep it a surprise until it's all done.

Justin... I think we're going to get a lip for it too, just so the length matches up all the way around.

Mike... it will always have a 420a in it .

The engine bay definitely needs help too. That bird crap/diarrhea orange is kind of killing me. The wing got painted black the next night, I don't have pictures of it yet though. But more updates to come hopefully at the beginning of next week. The hubby wants to finish it before he heads back out again. He's doing some body work to it first. You can kind of see in the second "during" picture right behind the fuel door, there's a chunk missing. It's bondo. :\ So he's going to fix that and all the little "holes" in the bumper and side skirts and get the rear bumper to fit correctly instead of hanging down. Patches does feel better though. When I took the front bumper off and put the new one on, I could have sworn I heard the car sigh in relief

I think deep down you know the right color to paint it. If you heard her sigh in relief with just the front bumper, Imagine how much she would like having the rest of that body kit taken off. Tell her, "soon enough".

So I finally took a dedicated picture of the engine bay while we had the hood off. After the exterior gets done, this sucker's next! I have to wonder what in the world these people were smoking when they thought "Hey I know, let's paint the engine bay vomit diarrhea orange, it'll look awesome!"

There's some purple on the head too. Love it. :\

No. It was painted orange over green over blue. There was some purple in there too. This car has been atleast 4 different colors at one point or another. Atleast those are the colors we found when we were sanding it down.

wow that's even worse then my brothers ricer(3 colors under the rattle can primer) was, check the tag under the hood, i want to know what color it originally was... i don't know why i do but i do.

You can see the tag under the hood in the second picture. It's totally clean from being painted over. :\ The ORIGINAL color, as far as I can tell (from the floor boards and hatch well) was a blue-y purple-ish color.

Seriously... I feel bad for this poor car . I'm trying to fix it as fast as I can, but I can only do so much at a time. She's coming along though. Runs great.... just doesn't look so hot.

Ok kids. Patches is no longer "Patchy." She's gonna get wetsanded and cleared today. Which is good because I have to go get it inspected heh. Here she is!!
