In an attempt to get DSM'rs into rallying and show what it's all about, I figured we need to understand the "basics".
here's a great vid', for all those who aren't familiar with WRC, Colin McRae, is probably one of the all time greatest drivers in WRC, along with his dad Jimmy, they dominated the rally world for a long time. Sadly, Colin was killed in a helicopter crash a couple of years ago. In tribute to rallying and Colin, here's him explaining how to drive a rally car to the fullest of your ability.

This stuff can be done in a AWD DSM and once learned it's so easy to bring it to FWD techniques.

By the way, Colin, like me, is from Scotland:D so if can't understand his accent, tough luckROFL

Good stuff from Colin, and i second the need for a rally forum!

That was a really good video!! I actually learned alot! LOL, I agree, we need a dedicated rally forum.

damn right, use that AWD mitsubishi how it is supposed to be used!
rally/rallycross forum is needed

If you read in the owners manual of a DSM, it says not to be driving in off road conditions.:shhh:

Who reads that anyway? Mine didnt come with one so I got an excuse! :p

But is any car supposed to be drivin offroad? No, but its more fun! :sneaky:

Killer Vid!!!

I've been using the "Scandinavian Flick" for a long time now and didn't even know it had a name.LOL

I love rallying my Talon. Its by far the most fun I have had with it. These cars do very well rallying. They take some time to figure out how to drive but once you get used to it its great fun!!!

My car really became stable once I installed the Blizzak WS70's:thumb:

That video was full of win. I never really liked the looks of the X though, and actually like the looks of the scoobie new vs. new, but the old models, Evo takes it all. But that handling was amazing, If only I could afford, then be ballsy enough to take my new investment into the gravel.

I have to agree that the vid was way cool. I can't say I'm a big fan of the new Scooby, but it is a cool car. I way prefer the style of the early models. I totally love the look of the 10.

I was amazed at the power of the 10 though to manage a 4 wheel drift on dry tarmac, though, that was impressive.

We need to get the DSM into the forum more to keep it legal I guess:hmm:

What next?

Here's some great Mitsubishi Galant VR4 rallying in the hands of another rally great Pentti Arikila.

Top Gear: Tiff drives the RAC Rally winning Mitsubishi Galant VR4

Also, this is classic old Top Gear and if you watch the end credits, you'll see a familiar name....Jeremy Clarkson. Yup, he used to be a co-host back in the 80's.

^^ Not bad, I was going to prep my Talon for RallyX and possibly Rally, but it's just to harsh on the car for my limited budget. So I'm sticking to the track and Strip. Can't wait. the clutch will be ordered in the next couple of weeks and then it's time to drop the motor back in afire this new girl up!!!

I would love to have a dedicated rally forum. Hopefully by this time next year I will be able to start building a rally spec vr4.

Once graduated I intend on getting a 1ga dedicated to rally/rallycross and keep the 1gb for track/high hp use. Then get a clean 2g and use that for a DD. Ahh how I do have dreams....

I'd be so lucky:p

+1 I've wanted a 1g for rallying for a while. It's just hard to find a good one in my area.
