Poor HS student build thread!

Hello guys. My name is Taran. Im a senior in Highschool. I live in Aurora CO. And this is my build thread. Im currently interning at a tuner shop called RacingTrenz. Its a performance shop, dyno and all the good stuff. I would like to think I know my way around a car pretty well. Ive been lurking here for a while and gathered what I think is the right way to start my first ever build. Ill have lots of pictures as well.

Basically I would like your guy's opinions and insite on how im doing.

This is my car: 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Got her for 2500 back in july. This is what she looked like when i got her.

well first of all take the tube off the intake pipe that connected to the old BOV and cap it off.

Since ive got it ive done a few things.

First was swap over my rims from my last Talon:

And i also did some interior modding as well. I took the black door panels from another car with my tan ones and made something custom.

This guys an idiot!! You should find a way to recirc your BOV because your not running a blow thru maf setup.. However, I do like what youve done to the car since youve had it! I like the door panels! You going for the full black interior, or you planning to keep the tan seats?

After that I was craving some more power. And the T-25 wasnt doing it for me. I picked up a used 14b and bought the punishment racing FMIC. I also got all my exhaust set up too. PR 3inch down pipe and a ebay cat back.

and currently thats how the cars sits. I have a boost gauge installed as well.

+1. If you don't the mods will probably lock it or move it to the hangout. And if it is a build journal, we dont have to look through everyone else's comments to see the progress.

Well if its getting locked then ill move it. I dont know how to do that though. I actually perfer threads. I think they are more organized. So if someone like a mod help me out that would be cool.

Im gonna try and rebuild the big 16g myself. I dont have the money to pay justin to do it. Im getting my ecu socketed this week and will have link installed shortly.

My all together goal is 300-350hp. I plan on doing e-85 since my injectors are plunty big. Do you guys think i can make this? Once i get some more money saved up im getting wideband and hopefully the vrsf front mount. It looks better then punishment I have now.

They are 850cc injectors.

And yeah that 16g has some wheel damage. I really cant do the 300+ quote i got for a rebuild so it will have to do for now.

haha and yeah it looks like im not poor, but my summer job has ended and my only income is selling parts from my parts car.

So I finally got my ecu socketed, so hopefully I will have link up and running shortly.

Over all plans would be 400awhp. Future mods will consist of: headgaskit, arp headstuds, fp race mani,
and maybe larger injectors. After the 16g I want either a 20g or a 50 trim.

Might be poor, but he doesn't have to pay rent/electrical/school etc...

Nice job, I just graduated last year and I have a similar setup.

JayRacing 255 pump
FIC BM 1250's
Punishment FMIC
3" TurboBack
Big 16g
and a bunch of maintenance stuff. My interior is stripped from the front seats back haha.



Good luck though! Plan on making a pass?
