Well i put my 99 GST Spyder on the scale tonight it came in at 3140lbs. This is with full interior, a few things in the trunk (tool box, spare tire, and a few ramdom stuff), and 3/4 tank of gas. I am pretty impressed i thought this car would be AT LEAST 3200lbs. :dsm:

a scale at a recycling center

Did the center let you weight it for free? Or did you have to pay a small fee to use their scale?

I've always thought about stopping at a truck weigh station off the highway and seeing if they would let me weigh my car. Anyone ever tried that?

DSMunknown- we went at midnight so it was free! they leave the scale on at night :rocks:

CanadianTSi- no i was not in the car, i just stepped on the scale myself i am 163lbs. so me in the car comes to 3303

I thought so too Andy the scale said i weighed 170 last night with everything on (clothes, wallet, shoes, keys, ipod, double-double in my stomach ROFL , and cell). I weighed myself this morning 163 (in my boxers only). The scale seems pretty accurate to me

I went with him and we weighed a bunch of stuff and that scale is dead accurate. My car came out to 3060 lbs with some gas in it, spare tire, and some crap in the trunk. I estimated it to be about 3000 lbs, since stock mine should weigh 3150 and I've taken about 150 lbs off of it. My friend's STi weighed 3280, a new C6 vette manual weighed 3060 which is just right. It's pretty cool, you just go there at midnight when no one is around and they leave the screen on at night. You have to peek thru the window but you can clearly see the weight displayed.

Yeah, I did this for a project for my land vehicle dynamics class. You should probably check in the weigh station before hand to make sure its cool, and also bring someone with you to stand inside and write it down for you.

That is really odd, because I weighed my GSX at englishtown's raceway park and got 3380 with me in it and like 4 gallons of gas. I weighed like 160 back then.

That seems pretty close. 2g GSX manual is 3150, + 160 lbs for driver = 3310 lbs + gas weight etc. When I weighed mine at 3060 I wasn't in it and I've done a good amount of weight reduction.
