Traded in my 2g for a 1g *Pics Inside*

Finally got rid of my blue car.I didn't want to do it but it was having handfuls of problems.Motor problems etc.

Alot of you may remember my 2g.It looked gorgious,its even pictured on slowboys site somewhere,but beyond looks the car was one big mess..

Well I traded it for this 92 TSi AWD.6/4 bolt.The car is very solid.Runs alot better than it looks.I will be bringing it to work within the next two weeks to do the bodywork and paint.Im going to keep it burgandy with black top.It kindve has grown on me.The car has 213k miles on the chassis with all new suspension and axels.The motor was rebuilt 16k miles ago along with the entire drivetrain.It's mildly modded I would say.

It does need a new starter,the old one is on its way out.Ebrake doesnt work,also needs some 550cc's.The car runs out of injector at about 5500rpms on the stock 450s.The stock sidemount heatsoaks.Plan on replacing it with a decent fmic.
Other than that the car runs great.Strong as all hell.Alot stronger than my 2g ever was anyways.He wanted 3500 for the car.I decided to do the trade strait up keeping my wheels and entire stereo system which I have to go grab out of the car tommorow by the way.I dont think I got too bad of a deal on it.My 95 was beautiful,but the motor seemed to have bad valve seals and had another serious issue with backfiring/misfiring.It was to the point where the car didn't even want to move.Add to that the fact that the car was starting to get stuck in gear and I got pretty much fed up with the car.
I thought I would miss my 2g,but so far Im happy I went through with this and made the trade.The guy even let me take the car for the entire day to make sure I wanted it.That was real nice of him.He didnt have to do that,especially with his plates on the car.Well anyways here she is.I know its far from pretty but the car runs alot better than it looks.Im doing my best to get it looking decent.Plans include clear sidemarkers,black housing headlights,cf hood,and a trip to work for some bodywork and paint.What do you think?
I dont want to begin modding this car just yet,I want to enjoy having a good running DSM.Its been quite awhile for me,Finally got me that much wanted AWD too

Nice car man. I am looking to trade in my 2G GST for a 1G AWD as well. I love the looks of the 1G's and I think you are being a little too hard on yourself, the car looks real nice. Good luck with it.

Good trade!! If someone wanted to trade a running 6bolt/4bolt talon for my car right now I would do it as well. It seems like one thing or another recently with my car but I still love her. I am rather envious of my friend George's white 6/4 Talon though.

Yeah,I did have a 6 bolt in that blue car.I kinda got screwed on that whole deal though.I bought that motor online off a company that imports over jdm motors.When I got the motor it was in terrible condition,valve seals were junk,the plugs were all oil fouled,compression turned out to be pretty low.For $1500 I shouldv'e gotten something a little better.They claim thier motors have 30-50k miles,but there was no way that motor had anything around that.It looked as if the owner didn't like to change thier oil.
It was a bad move on my part.I shouldv'e build up my own 6 bolt.
Sorry noone likes the red interior.It has grown on me.At first I couldnt stand it.But because the dash and the door panels are dark grey,it looks pretty nice so theres not too much red.Im really starting to like it.The interior is in great shape.
Thanks for all the props on my 2g.I put so much time and effort into that car.It took me awhile to get it to look that good.I would always get so much attention in that thing.Everyone loved it,but I always told everyone the same thing.It may look nice but beyond all that its a pile of crap.
But to anyone who is wanting to get rid of thier 2g fwd for a 1g awd but debating it,I have to let you know.Its not half as bad as you think it will be.Im already falling in love with this 1g,and right now I dont regret making the trade one bit.

They are stickers called overlays. Basicly they fit over the old HVAC's and are cut out so they only cover the black part. Everything still lights up like it should.

I took that picture the morning after I got the car.At that time the car wasn't mine,He was letting me test it to see if I wanted it.I couldn't sleep at all the night before.I kept waking up,and finally woke up for good at like 4:50am.I couldnt sleep because I didn't know if I wanted to make the trade or not.Yeah so the point im trying to get at here is I took that picture in the morning when it was cold out,explaining the exhaust smoke.

Ill trade you my 90 awd for your car. Pm if you want details. decently modded. needs new fender, and repaint the hood, bumper. Has dsmlink, just need a few parts to really tap into it. Ill drive most of the way if need be. Im wanting to trade my 1gawd for a 2g gst surprisingly.

Congrats! That's awesome. I'm starting to look into trading my 2g n/t for a 1g AWD, or at least selling my 2g and getting a 1g awd. I have to say, the 1g looks are starting to grow on me. I am accually starting to really like the looks of the Talon...
